As much as I am all for remakes, this was one game I never would have elected. Cecil as the Dark Knight had the single coolest side view battle sprite ever concocted, and the game was beautiful and artistic the way it was.

Now Cecil is super-deformed, and I'm not buying it.

The story-line was also dead frikkin serious - morbid even, at times. It's hard for me to make the connection they are.

I'll still buy it though. Just you watch me.

FINAL FANTASY IX?

If they would use the budget used on all of these lesser remakes on a FFIX remake, they could do high-polygon models, fully voiced, brand-new cgi cutscenes (Or, fuck, just keep the old ones) and correct any and all unbalances or poor translations, making the best game ever even best-er!

However, FFIV was pretty damn good if you could get over the totally cliche story (which still somehow manages to be fresh and new at the same time).

Male characters with bodies like that are cool. It actually makes them look stronger that muscular characters, not to mention more agile. Just look at Yami Yugi; he can jump off of buildings!

I never beat FF4 because the menu systems always confused me. I had no idea what items did what, or whether or not to waste my money on a weapon I didn't know the stats for.

So, my first true FF4 experience just might be this. I can't wait.

So...they've attacked....I mean remade another one.. the only remake I'm looking forward to is the first Final Fantasy for Psp..

Let's celebrate Final Fantasy's 20th anniversary by butchering the greatest Final Fantasy of all time! Call it a remake if you want, but I call it necromancy. I had a long, angry speech prepared but now I'm just too infuriated. I'm going to go cry in my pillow (figuratively).

Hmm... being a fan of FFIV, I'll get it. Just for the Rydia, you know. She's one of my fave characters. Also, it's funny watching the GameFAQers talking about Rosas Nose.

I don't really see the prob with this game? I'm definitely interested in it. Plus I don't see why you guys are so mad about remakes, as if they still aren't working on new titles.

I agree with Mercutio, I know it seems like there just raking us for money by making all this remakes but it's been fueled by our want to buy them in the first place, also I'm a big fan of FFIV, it's probably my favorite of the 2D incarnations so I am looking forward to it even though he does look a little odd.

Also if they continue at this rate it won’t be long until we see remakes for 7-9 which can't be a bad thing as they are, IMO, three of the greatest games ever made.

Also I think it's a great opportunity for younger players, who never got to enjoy the games the first time around and then weren't really drawn in by the 2D graphics of the PS1 ports after having played the newer ones for the first time, to finally get their hands on some classic games.

Why do they keep remaking/porting final fantasy games when Chrono Trigger is left untouched? I know thousands of people (though not personally) that would rather see CT in full 3D than an FF game that is allready out on three other consoles, and does not need a fourth.

When you were still not into games. Truthfully it was FFII in the US, but thats just the way it rolled back then. Anyways, yes Cecil is deformed, but they might fix that later in production, and the day Squarenix remakes Chrono Trigger or SMRPG:LTSS will be the day you know hell froze over.

Cecil is not [ignorance]deformed[/ignorance], he's a "chibi". It's a common form for RPG characters to take. FF7 and FF9 used this style.
And every single 2D RPG ever made uses this style. Besides, he looks cool this way (I've said this before).

And if they make a 3D RPG Maker for the computer, I wil personally make a remake of Chrono Trigger for everyone here! That should make hmaddict happy!

You bet it would. But, be careful. Squenix is known for handing out C&D orders to people trying to redo it. (Like Ct Resurection, CTRP, and others)
