Exorsus

Right you are, Calibre. Lol.

The internet at my faculty blocks all "games" themed websites. So, no way to access this site from there. Be it by the computer lab, or my laptop. N I'm too damn cheap to go to cc. Har har.

Then again, this thread doesn't really get much attention. So, my going missing for a few months won't really make much of a difference :p.

Sorry to say, no updates to show at the moment. Student life sucks.

It is regrettable to say that Exorsus cannot be continued. As much as it pains me to admit it.

Due to my laptop crashing a few months back, ALL of my data is lost. This includes all my graphics, audios, ideas, as well as my most precious files for Exorsus. The hardisk can't be detected externally, so data retrieval is unlikely. (now I regret encrypting the demo file T_T)

I did recall keeping an old, outdated copy of Exorsus in a pendrive. But I can't seem to locate that particular pendrive as of yet.

I apologize to those who were anticipating the release of Exorsus. So as to make up for the expectations built up by this project, I am currently "trying" to work on another project, in a world similar to Exorsus. But it will take time for it to reach the same level Exorsus has achieved before the loss.

Wish me luck. And again, I am sorry.

then decrypt it, i've seen on chinese website there is rmxp decrypter
hope it will help you, at least you got back for the graphic and music, but for the the script i't not good as the first make
(sorry my english very bad)

I had a similar problem, where I had access to the encrypted demo of my game, but I lost the unencrypted version along with all my supplemental files.  vgvgf was able to send me a program that decrypted my project perfectly, with no problems.  I can't speak for him, but he may let you use that program, or at least decrypt the project for you.  Of course, it won't restore any of your other files that weren't explicitly included in the project, but it could help.  It certainly got my project back up and running.

As far as the hard drive, have you tried detecting it using a live-boot Knoppix CD?  I've found occasionally that if a hard drive can't be detected using Windows-based filesystems, a Knoppix live-boot CD was able to detect the drive, enough to copy data over to a flash drive.

Man that sucks. Happened to my project aswell, but I didn't have anything to recover it from. :(
Anyways yeah I've seen a decrypter somewhere aswell, good luck with finding it and I hope you get the project back up and running. :)

I decrypted the game file a few weeks back. It worked, but most of the files were missing.

Plus, my second hard drive crashed not long after i decrypted the file (X_x). I swear, that was a real bitch.

But, now I got a new hard drive, and a new external hard drive to backup all my files. Hopefully no more file loss will occur again.

And the best news of all; I was packing up my stuff to leave for home a few days ago. And what i found in my luggage gave me a heart attack. Exorsus back up pendrive~!!!! I thought I already lost that 128MB old-skool piece of technology. And the data files are quite updated, i must say.

Happy!!! XD

edit:

I swear, its damn hard to get into this site. Most of the time its either blocked or it wont load. I hate wireless connections sometimes.

I heard you found a backup of your project on a thumbdrive. Glad this didn't die when your computer crashed.
Let this be a lesson to everybody, Back up your work! CDs, DVDs where ever you can. USB Thumbdrives have gotten really cheap lately.

World Map sketch added. I guess it can be considered a spoiler, since there are sum writing on it. Lol. You can find it in the Designs/Schematics section, wa~y down at the bottom.

Since the raws for the world map is gone, I'll have to remake the whole thing. Meh, the old one wasn't all that good neways. Wakakaka! [/stressed]

- Getting confused with all the shit that needs modifications X_x
- Added new maps that lead to the Training Grounds. So, players will have to walk there, instead of being instantly transfered there after the 10-year jump.
- Planning on new introduction scene for the next release. (i'm sure everyone's bored with the old one by now. Har har.)

Added a new screenshot in the screenshots section (duh). Tell me wut u guys think of it. The colors seem off to me. I actually planned on making it look more like the Myriad Key, but i suck at making circles.

- Finished event-scripting a new control indicator (the thing that tells you when you can control your character, or you're in event mode).
This is to replace the "control animation" in the previous demo.

So far, I'm the only one working on this project. Not sure if there are people out there who could tolerate my laziness. Lol.

Wow, that's impressive, I only have my friend working on some small graphics for my game, and one member of my family is the concept artist, that's the team that I have right now. I am doing everything else.
Your game actually looks quite original.

Hey, thanks Sechs. ^_^.

Aite, I've been pretty quiet this month, apparently. Been tweaking the project a bit, and working on the graphics. No major update, i suppose.

I finished working on some of the Runes, Insignias and a couple of battlers. But I haven't added it to the first post just yet. And perhaps I never will. Instead, I've posted them on my deviantart account. So, if you feel like taking a look, click the image below:

And uh, almost had a heart attack when I realized I had to take a supplementary test for my failed Analytical Chemistry paper a few days back. Lol. Now I just gotta wait for the results. Pray that the Big Guy upstairs will show mercy on my cgpa. Lol.

Added a new battle screenshot to the first post. You can find it in the Screenshots section, as usual.

Yup, finally decided to get to work on Kilhart's battler and see how it works.

I drew the battler a tad smaller in comparison to Brian's. So, the size of the lines might appear different, with less detail. But I figured once I resize it into a battler sheet, it wouldn't seem so obvious.

- Finished the raw lineart for Kilhart's Idle pose.
- Working on the battlebacks for some of the maps.
- Edited / Improved some of the tilesets.

Whoa, two weeks of silence. I just started my Industrial Training recently, so I was pretty preoccupied with a few lab work. And don't even get me started on the tiredness... >_>

At any rate, finally made some progress on the project after leaving it to collect dust.

Posted a new screenshot of the semi-finished puzzle. You can find it in the Screenshots section.

- Finished the Puzzle for Chambers. Although the graphics could use a bit more tweaking ~_~.
- Making progress on the new opening scene...very, very slow progress. Lol.
