Hate to break it to you, but it sort of was. I mean, sure, it was a little harsh, but a lot of times harshness gets the point across better than just going "Oh yeah, the mapping wasn't good, but it was still a good game!!" How does that help you? He was giving you good tips on how to improve your game, and you freaked. Anyway...
Well, I just sort of played a bit of the game, it's pretty average so far. Mapping is a bit sub-par. They seem too square-like, even for VX. I like how it immediately thrusted you into the gameplay, however, the intro wasn't very good (I didn't get much of a sense of action) and it would've been a lot better if you had made sprites of the enemies dead, instead of them disappearing. Also, it kind of defeats the purpose in my eyes if you say that the villain is the antagonist right at the intro, then have them all lose their memories. You could've taken that opportunity to create a twist later on. (albeit an extremely cliched twist, but a twist nonetheless) Anyway...haven't played much, although the battle system is pretty repetitive, as previously mentioned. (although I don't like any VX battle systems in the first place (except Gubid's TBS)) Didn't know if you caught this, but if you use the water skill, it will still show his bow.
If Avadan wanted to change all the character's levels to 99, then why not? If you left the demo purposely unencrypted, then people should be free to whatever they want. It should also be expected that you would've wrinkled out bugs before releasing it, instead of making us fix them. Not only does it show laziness, but it makes it seem like you didn't put much effort into playtesting. Anyway, I'll shut up now, just my two cents.
