E3: New PS3 Model and a Price Drop!

The PSN just needs one thing; more and bigger updates. I swear, XBL had more new stuff added based on E3 than PSN. Though, i am finally truely seeing a difference here. When PSN says 'HD' it MEANS HD. My friend downloaded a bunch of stuff off of XBL that said "HD". Yeah... they looked like CRAP. I couldnt believe THAT is what they called HD! Might be because I am used to blueray now...
Perhaps it is the cable rather than the content...

It sucks that they announce a price cut on the 60gb model, and then annouce they are discontinuing it, effectively forcing people to buy the $600 80gb model.

When will Sony learn that people don't really care about GB space? They're not going to think "Wow, 600 dollars for something with 20 more GB of space". They're going to think "Wow, 600 dollars? I'm not paying that!"

TSA, I can vouch that the HD videos on XBL are noticably lower quality than *most* of the the videos on the PSN. The XBL videos tend to have much more noticable compression artifacts and such. I suppose it could have to do with some of the PSN videos being 1080p, but then again, I'm not certain what resolution the XBL videos are. It doesn't really bug me though.

Neither network has videos that stand up to Blu-ray.

Oh, and as for the USB cable thing, I'm an impulse cable buyer, and I already had various lengths of the appropriate cable. I just busted out my longest, and the chord is about as long as the old Dual Shock chord was.

Lol. You sound insane man.

But yeah, it would be impractical to have either HD-DVD or Blue-Ray quality videos on the network. You'd face 15gb/45gb downloads for a single movie.
