Dreams

Am I the only who has dreams that you can fly, but you never really can FREELY fly, like sometimes you drop out of the sky or do a retarded glide or something?

I have weird dreams all the time. I can't even begin with them. I've had dreams about apocalypses, (I once had a dream in June that the world would end November 22)/

WTF?!?!?! Why would the world end in my birthday!!!!!!

For some strange reason I keep dreaming about this girl. Every single night, but anyway......

The strangest dream I ever had was that I was the host of party in my house. Then there was a hurricane that destroyed my house and killed most of the people. I however was in the toilet, crapping, so somehow I survived. (Crapping gives you a magical shield!) I went out the restroom to find my self in a jail. It was me and a fat guy. The fat gut pulled a switch, which apparently could help us escape jail I really don't remember, and got fried by electricity. Then this guy from Florida comes with a jet boat and gives me lots of money, you know guys from Florida give free money after rescuing you, and drops me up at my house, which apparently was all better.

No, about half my flying dreams are like that, or like a Knights into Dreams kind of thing.

I had a film-esque sequence of dreams in Nicaragua. I was in an hostel in Managua, and suddenly I woke up and realized I didn't know where my bolsito (little bag, I guess...I kept my passport, my credit cards, etc. etc, in there) was. I searched around my backpack, around my bed, in the hostel common rooms, the kitchen, etc., nothing.

So I went back to sleep pretty distressed, but I figured I couldn't do more during the night and I'd see in the morning.

So the dreams. I dreamed I suddenly woke up, distressed, and proceeded to look around in my bed for the bag, which I found. Reassured, I went back to sleep...and woke up. I realized I had been dreaming, so my anguish was back...but I still looked around with some hope, and found my bag in my backpack. Reassured, I went back to sleep...and woke up. Again, I realized I'd been dreaming, so now both with anxiety and frustration, I woke up and walked around the kitchen, where I found my bag. Reassured, I went back to sleep...and woke up. Except this was for real. And I didn't find it.

Incidentally I found it the next morning. The owner found it during his nightly round and thought it safer to keep it in his office.

My dreams when I'm flying, are upwards, not down. When I'm going upwards, I can control it for a while, then all of a sudden, I start... losing power? and I start flying where I don't want to go, or it takes me a huge effort to make myself fly where I want to go, etc.

When I was younger, I guess I used to have a fear of bees or something, and I'd dream that there were human sized bees in the world, and one chased me forever and eventually stung me in the stomach, but when I woke up, my back was in tremendous pain.. every time.

Another dream I used to have was of the Oompa Loompas, and they'd be chasing me everywhere. Can't remember the details of that one.

Yeah, this! This seems pretty common, I wonder why that is?

A lot of my dreams are in third-person, but quite often, they will switch back and forth seemingly at random. Now, that is scary.

Why would that be scary? I do that when I'm walking around and I'm awake. It's very useful for seeing behind your head if you can learn to project your conciousness like that. I can tell colors and most details at almost any distance. It's fun to tell my girlfriend what shirt she is wearing when I haven't seen her all day and I'm calling after I get out of class. Not to mention noone can sneak up on me.
My dreams have first, third, and 'different person other then me' views if they aren't lucid. And they are fun.

So, Wolfgang
Your pretty much saying that you have the ability to see in all directions, and are concious of things at very great distances; such as your girlfriends shirt color? As much as I would just love to believe that's true, I'm going to have to call bullshit and just dismiss it right there
Sorry, but truth be told - nobody here will ever believe that. :|:

To keep this thread on topic:

I had a dream just this other day that I was sitting with my classmates on this short hill in front of a parking lot in the middle of the forest, and behind us the hill kept going up - but it was on tiers, and on each tier were makeshift pens. Although I never saw any dog but the one I'm going to describe in a moment, I was aware they all contained dogs. All at the same time, all the dogs somehow escaped their pens - but I had a dog I specifically needed to get back. I feel like I've had this dream once before, but the course of it went slightly different.
Anyway, at the top of this hill was a very modern farm, and drinking from the pig trough at this barn was a very old and very ragged BIG brown dog. So I took him by his collar and led him to where the hill started to go down again, and led him safely back to his pen on the first tier and left him there.
I feel like there was an 'ending' almost right after that, where I reflected on why I had to find the dog, but I don't remember that part exactly.
Let's think :specs:

Its possible to see the present through astral projection but that isn't counted as dreaming and very few can actually do it - although a lot say they can.

Prophetic dreams are a whole other kettle of fish - but again its a dodgy subject. I've had what I believe to be prophetic dreams - often reoccuring (except for once when the event happened that night) but they are never straightforward black and white.

Surmy - your dream sounds like you got closure on an issue. Its satisfying when you actually do what you intended to do in a dream. My dreams often leave me feeling so damn frustrated.

Just edited my last post after the first one vanished...

The only thing I can think he'd be talking about is Astral Projection which isn't dreaming and therefore not on topic :D

( psst, RedWitch ilu but that wasn't on topic either :3 )

I once had a dream on Christmas about trying to pick up pennies in a small room while a giant mechanical hand tried to stop me, there was always the 2nd room - which I don't ever remember getting to, but it I desired it deeply and just never made it... I stopped having the dream, but I had it repeatedly for a long time. Who knows what was in the second room now~

I mean in my slumber yeah I usually go off and on in POV, but irl its virtually impossible to do so yeah :/

I didnt read the op but i usually dream about random stuff related to real life. For example, I kept dreaming my hair was getting cut and was scared and woke up to have it still there

I tend to have spastic dreams like that; veering on the edge of nightmares, but not too frightening to be so.

I can only remember a few dreams that are suitable for all ages

One of them was where my whole family and a few friends were squeezed into my mams house for some reason (like a new years party or something). Everytime someone spoke to me I'd blurt out something embarrassing about them or unintentionally insult them and they wouldn't talk to me. So this continued on and by the end noone was talking. I walked out of the room and went to look in the mirror in the hall. I stepped through the mirror went into the 'mirror living room' and everyone was chatting away as if nothing had happened - but I couldn't speak.

I think I remember waking up cringing even though I couldn't remember anything I said in the dream.

Like I said... :|: ...frustrating!

Sometimes dreaming I see the future :japfag:

Seriously, I normally cannot remember my dreams, but the most frustrating one was when I was naked and chasing the girl that I liked (she was naked too) and she told me "lets have sex" then she started running on an infinite road and i was chasing her for the rest of my life

I have this to an extent. I can do the projection thing, and 'see' around a corner, for example, but it's never 100% accurate. I usually can predict the number of people that will be there, but never what they are wearing or their gender. I can also see through someone else's eyes that I'm talking to, and, ultimately, see behind myself. It's pretty cool, but it takes too much effort for me to consciously do, that it's hard to keep a conversation going at the same time.

Yes I was talking about astral projection.

I had a dream that i was walking around in a white suit, with a midget on a leash. I'd walk around minding my own business, and a random person would come up and insult me. So I'd put on a rubber glove, hold my gloved hand out to my trusty midget sidekick and say, "Powder me." He's take out 1 of about 20 tin cans he had on his belt and pour a strange flour-like powder in my hand, and then I would smack the person who had insulted me in the face with the powder, and they would go down. I'd then proceed to remove my glove, drop it on him/her and say, "Think twice." I'd then continue walking and everyone else in the area acted as if nothing happened. Except for one (apparently) homeless man, who would walk up the the person who had been smacked and pour the contents of his money can onto the still knocked-out person.
