Dreams

Inspired by the Surreal Experiences thread; this is the dreams thread :3 Post your weird/interesting/sad/happy dreams that you've had.

I had two dreams that were connected these past two weeks; and tehy were spaced fairly far apart so it sort of surprised me. Anyway, in the first dream I remember distinctly knowing that I had like done a lot of really bad things - IIRC I think I murdered a bunch of people or something (I'm really not screwed up I swear! :x)

Anyway, I did all these bad things and nobody knew I had done them but I felt mentally guilty and somewhere that dream ended. The following week I had a dream that I was walking down the street, and parked across the driveway in front of me was a police car - and I was walking with a friend (but I can't recall who it was) so I grabbed my friend and cut across the street to avoid passing hte police car, as I'd done all these illegal things.

So I cut across the street, and of course the police car pulls out of the driveway and pulls over to the curb behind me - so of course I start sprinting to get away. So I'm running and I turn into this alleyway, but somewhere between the other side of the street and the alleyway I had looked back and seen they were actually apprehending someone else. My friend is who knows where by now; but this totally random kid from my school followed me into the alley and is now shouting about how suspicious I am running away from the cops when they weren't after me.

So I run, and I'm running and running and running through my neighborhood and all of a sudden I get to this extremely steep hill. More like a cliff; and beneath it is this big murky pond. And I'm still just me, so I'm sobbing by now and thinking about how horrible all of this is because I'm not a hardened criminal - I still feel bad over all this shit I guess. Anyway a guy dressed as a state trooper has been following me, so we get to the top of the hill and we have this confrontation, and all I remember from the conversation is me telling him that he could just turn around and let this go and neither of us would lose out. So he lurches towards me - and I fling myself off of this little cliff and whoa I legitimately got away from him.

Anyway, all of a sudden I'm at my grandmother house and I'm stressing about what I'm going to say when I go to court. Even though they never captured me, I think...I'm pretty sure that I had to testify for the guy they *did* catch. And in his trial, they'd catch on to who I was. So I was stressing over what my family would think and what I would say to get myself out, and contemplating whether I could just stick my fingers in my ears and never hear them speak to me again.
--

This was written in a way where it sounds like I remembered WAY MORE than you would really expect; but trust me, I just bulked it up in the way I described it, and it's all really fuzzy.

It was a strange dream.

one time i was dreaming, and i was following around the cheshire cat, and he went into a room with a door that read 'noise room'. so i go in, keep in mind, this is a lucid dream, and there was this super loud clanging, and white/brown/pink/everycolor noise, and all kinds of random screams and shit and im like WOA WTF THIS IS FUCKING LOUD WHERED THAT CAT GO. it was so loud that it actually woke me up. now i dont think dream-noise is actually able to literally wake you up, but for anyone who frequently practices lucid dreaming, it made it very hard to keep the dream going and 'concentrate', and you know what i mean.. the dream started to drift away. that was a weird one.

do you write down your dreams surmuck? that seems like a lot to remember without notes.

I have really bizarre dreams...Just a couple days ago I dreamed...

...I was sort of a spectator in this dream, which is typical of me really. There was this guy, he used to be a child actor in some old black and white cowboy TV show. Well, he was trying to play that part again and was dressed like a cowboy. He was trying to spit, like cowboys do but he had this...red rubber thing covering his mouth. In my dream I was thinking..."you can't spit with that on!"

Last night I dreamed I was walking down the street in a bad neiborhood and some lady invited me into her house and gave me a BJ. Her kids were all hanging around like it was totally normal. Later on she got undressed and had this big patch of brown fur on her chest. I told her "you've got a hairy spot." and she said something like "well, at least your honest..." later on in the dream I fell in love with her in spite of her deformity.

I told you I have weird dreams.

I was being fucked, anally, in reverse-cowgirl position, while he held onto my tits really tightly. And then he pulled out and came, gallons, all over my back and hair. And then I woke up.

Other than that the weirdest dream I've had was me driving a car, with three pedals in front of me that were for some reason called "boards". And though I've never driven a car in my life, I knew what they did. There was the "go fast board", the "stop board", and the "cheeseboard" which made cheese appear.

I have weird dreams all the time. I can't even begin with them. I've had dreams about apocalypses, (I once had a dream in June that the world would end November 22) real life experiences, everything. I used to always dream about coming to school with no pants, about receiving tons of snow in July, and tornadoes. I can't really pinpoint the strangest dream I've ever had, but the other night I had a dream that I went to this Willy Wonka-esque factory where there was honey everywhere, all sorts of different flavours of honey. It was bizarre because I could actually taste the honey. :/

I dreamed that I woke up. it was the middle of the night, and almost everything was more or less exactly the way it was supposed to be, right down to my clock being broken. for some reason, though, my bathroom door was closed, and there was a light coming our from under it. dream-me resolved that it was probably someone taking a shower (for some reason) and I decided to ignore it and wake up to give them their privacy.

not really fantastic. I've been having a deficit of cool dreams lately.

@Wyatt: XD cheesboard. Lmao.

Either ways I have two recurring dreams. One where my gf is dead in my arms and I'm crying my heart out. There's blood everywhere. But I can't seem to stop her from bleeding. She's just dead. Its like some silent hill kinda stuff. It makes me wake up kinda depressed. :/

Then I have the same dream only this time I'm standing before her and I don't care that she's dead. I'm actually relieved that she is [[in the dream of course]] But I don't know. Its just blood everywhere. Her blood. And it just won't stop coming.

I've had it 4 times now.

Every Berries dream reminds me of Taut for some odd reason.

if I have a dream about my bedroom again I'm hoping for some Yume Nikki shit. I could use some hardcore introspection.

Makasu, that sounds like a downer. I hope this doesn't mean you're having some kind of relationship problem.

p.s. what's Taut?

I have interesting dreams all the time. Reoccurring ones to , as well as some that are just variations on a theme. You see, I tend to remember quite a lot of my dreams, though sometimes, I will lose a lot of details as the day goes by.

One specific dream I've had many times is in my backyard. I'm hanging onto this rope trailing off of a flying ax that is trying to kill me. So this thing is flying around, going up and down. Sometimes really high, sometimes my feet touch the ground. When its high, I can barely hang on, and when its low, my fingers won't let go of the rope. It just keeps on flying around, jerking me around, but staying in my general neighborhood.

In another dream (this is one that happens often, but never quite the same), I'm in my bed at night, and I wake up. I go downstairs for some reason, and notice a light on in my dad's office. I go down to investigate, and there is no one there. For some reason I go down into the pitch-black basement and enter the spare room from the addition where the sump pump is. In the back is a hole in the wall that leads into another room. I catch sight of something red (even though the room is pitch black) and I hear evil chuckling. I high-tail it outta there, but before I can get back to the stairs, Pennywise from Stephen King's IT grabs me and starts trying to eat me. I fight but fail, and hen wake up in a cold sweat. Once I woke up twice (false dreams). This dream has been a common nightmare since I was three and only in the past few years has receded a bit. I haven't had it in quite a while.

Another thing is I would love to remember the extensive floor plans from all the houses and buildings in my dreams. Quite often, I'll dream of a place I've been to quite often, but it will be changed. Often these buildings seem inspired by the Winchester mansion (dead ends, doors and stairs to nowhere, windows in the middle of the house) or Richie Rich's (shopping malls and multiplexes in the basement) home. I distinctly remember at least ten different versions of my house, two of my neighbor's, three of my grandparents', two of my aunt's, several of the schools I have gone to, several of the duplexes from my old neighborhood, and a few buildings I couldn't tell what they were in real life.

Yeah I hope so too...:( Some people say it means I want to kill my girlfriend! but that doesn't explain why sometimes I care and sometimes I don't. Maybe its reverse and I'm going to get killed! Oh noes!

Either ways Taut is an rm2k game. Almost like Silent hill. But it reminds me of your dream. You should check it out. Taut

EDIT: My dream came true. My "girlfriend" ran off to get married. :/

When I was younger, every dream I had would end with me falling off of a cliff or something. The weird thing was that I could actually feel sort of weightless when I woke up. (Strangeness)

That reminds me, every once in a while I'll have a strange dream where I'm either flying, falling, floating, etc. When I wake up, for a split second, I feel like I'm hovering a foot above the bed, and I fall back down, covered in sweat and hallucinating.

Also, has anyone ever experienced being half in a dream and half out? It's happened to me once or twice and it's a really cool feeling. It's hard to describe, but it's basically you're conscious and you know that you're in a bed and you know where you are, yet you're dreaming and can control your actions in the dream.

I hate it when you're having the world's best dream and then you wake up. Once I had a dream that I bought a Playstation that printed money. Another time I dreamt that I was a triollionaire and lived on this huge boat, and my room was the size of a football field.

The scariest dream I've ever had was...when I was a kid, I used to visit my grandma's nursing home with my dad. I'd get bored, so I'd run down the hallways, (and these were long hallways) get to the farthest I could go, and run back. There was never anyone in the halls, so I was always alone. Anyway, I had a dream that I was running down these hallways in an apartment, and there was this demon thing chasing me. Can't even begin to describe it, pretty much fear, terror and the stuff of nightmares bundled up into one horrific package. It was chasing me, but I couldn't seem to run, like I was in slow motion. No one would open their doors to help me, either.

Sometimes my dreams have titles. Before the dream starts, there will be a title card with the name of the dream. A couple weeks ago I dreamt me and my family (uncles, aunts, cousins, the whole schmuck) were staying at this really fancy hotel in New York or some other big city. We had this huge suite on the third floor. I went outside, and there were a bunch of school buses dropping kids off, when I hear a loud explosion. I look up, and on the second floor a bomb goes off and glass flys everywhere. I run inside the hotel lobby (for some reason there's a subway station in here) and run upstairs. The second floor is completely engulfed in flames. I check on my family, but only find my cousin. When we head back downstairs, the stairs are destroyed. By now, the third floor is on fire too, and we can't jump out the fourth floor either because it's two hundred feet from the ground.

I used to always have dreams about Cedar Point too, except in the dreams, it always seems like such a horrible place and really not great at all.

(I kinda rambled on there, but dreams are one of my favourite subjects)

I had a dream a few nights ago... I lived through the next year of my life in the dream. I did everything like I was awake. I even dreamed inside of my dream, waking up from dreams within dreams to find myself back in the original dream. A few dreams I had within the dream was me sleepwalking (which I do fairly often). But it was sureal to remember it in such an indirect way. After what felt like more then a year, I woke up. For real this time. The wierdest part was that everything I was doing in the dream was coming true. I can still remember up till next week, so I'm having the worst deja vu of my life. It is kinda cool though, cutting off people in the middle of what they are saying with what they were about to say. Pisses them off, but makes you seem mystical.

The interesting thing about theses dreams is that I'm starting to have them nightly, so that my dream life feels real and my real life feels like the dreams... this of course is hard to discern between, being that these are very lucid realistic dreams where I tend to have little or no control of what happens outside of my actions. Just like real life. -chuckles-

Aside from the obvious, I've had a lot of weird dreams in my life. I've had a lot of dreams that have come true, and it's always fun to tell someone that the waiter is about to trip on their shoelace. (Ignore the somewhat obvious reference to Groundhog day, and look at what I'm talking about). I remember dreams from elementary school that are suddenly taking place at random times now, including while I'm at college, in a room I'd never been in, with people I'd never met.

I've had a lot of crazy dreams where I'm in a place I go to a lot, only it's a lot bigger, and more complex. My grandparent's house becomes the Winchester Mystery House, and my old elementary school becomes some kind of ultramax prison, minus the guards with guns. I've also had a lot of dreams where I had some kind of power, only it would fail when I actually needed to use it. (A lot of the time it was running through the air as though I were on solid but kinda squishy ground, but it has been other stuff, like sorcery, magic, and whatever else you can think of)

Have you ever had sleep paralysis? That's where you wake up in the wrong phase of your sleep cycle, and you can think clearly, but you can't move a single muscle, becasue your brain is still temporarily disconnected from controlling your body's movements. That can create some funky experiences, and it's always disconcerting to find that you can't control your own body. Really gives you a new perspective on degenerative diseases.

Finally, I purposly put myself into a half consious state when I don't have to do anything in the morning. Specifically, I will lie back down, and let my mind wander. It gives me these really strange dreams, and I think they're kinda cool.

One recurring dream I used to have was that I was in my neighborhood (either inside or outside my house) and a Tyrannosaurus Rex would suddenly come into sight, and I'd have to either hide from it or escape from it. It never did manage to catch me, but it got pretty close almost every time.

Another dream I have had a lot is that I'm in my neighborhood, and I keep exploring and finding new places, like a huge park (About the size of the Golden Gate State Park, if I remember correctly), some new stores, and stuff like that. The only problem is, I would always get to a certain point where there was no way to go any further. The funny thing was, it was always just past the park that I mentioned.

Another recurring dream I used to have was based on that favorite game I have mentioned in my signature. I would be in all these cool new tracks, and I would be racing a bunch of cars to see if I could win. It was always a dicey business, but I usually did pretty well until I fell off the road somewhere.

I've also dreamt of exploring the neighborhood I used to live in, and I would find this great park, that was set up just perfect. I would continue exploring, and I would find a building that was based on the one in Jurassic Park, only the dinosaurs were already out, and I'd have to find a way to escape. I never did manage it, and this one always ended very differently, from me ending up in the red-rock country in the west to me ending up at some water-based playground above a lake in a slow-moving river.

Finally, I would have two recurring themes that would show up a lot in my dreams in childhood, although they have basically disappeared. The first is on a road trip, we are going up a really steep hill, and the higher we got, the harder it was to breathe, until we got to the top and I felt like I was suffocating, but then we'd go down the other side and I'd be fine again. The other one was falling, be it from a plane, a slide, building or tree. In these I would always feel really wierd. It wasn't quite like weightless would feel, but it was similar. Then I would wake up, and it woud feel like I was settling back into my bed from a couple of inches in the air.

As best as I can tell, some of these things I have mentioned seem to indicate that I had (and may still have) some kind of sleep disorder, although I can't figure out what kind it is.

I've heard that a lot of people, when they die in their dreams, they either wake up, or their mind "cuts" to something else. When I dream of dying (I do a lot--multiple ways too, like being hacked up by an axe murder or drowning or falling or getting squished, eaten by zombies, etc), I always can see my body, or see as if I were still in my body, looking at whats going on while I can't move or talk.

99% of my dreams are in first person, too, so when I get nightmares, they're more frightening than "usual" ones. Atleast, that's how it feels.

My psychologist thought that these nightmares had something to do with my agoraphobia, my tenseness in many social situations. That may explain the axe murders and zombie attacks, but the watching my dead body thing is just odd :/

Yea that's a funny thing I have, when I think in my dream, "OUCH! This is gonna hurt." I can wake up if I want to.
Venetia, almost all my dreams are in first person, and thats a cool thing I think other then just looking up to it. Will try to remember my next dream and post it here.

A lot of my dreams are in third-person, but quite often, they will switch back and forth seemingly at random. Now, that is scary.

Darkfire, the same thing happens to me - although not extremely random like 'i'm about to get mauled by a zombie OH GOD NOW IT'S IN FIRST PERSON' but more when i start 'thinking' or I'm more directly interacting with something that I'm in first person.
