Does Gender(and sexual pref.) Really Affect Music You Listen To?

Everyone I have ever spoken to has said the music I listen to is 'girl music'. Who the hell is out there drawing the line between girl and boy music?
In my opinion, music is music - no matter who's ears its going into.

Preference: Indie Rock, Hard Rock, Christian Hard Rock, Christian Metal, Metal, Christian Indie Rock, some techno, some rap.
Opinion: I personally listen to harder songs that you can literally jam to I crank my speakers in my car up and blare rock music in a 60% rap loving population, I also have 5.1 surround sound x2 in my room, one for my computer one for my home theater.
Why: It is a preference of mine to listen to that kind type of music. I am a rebel and like to show it, I don't care what others think or listen to, I am me so I will listen to what i like whether you care or not, so crank your ghetto ass music up and I will crank mine just as loud. I can't live without music so it is a part of my life, so my room will be filled with it as long as I am in it and as loud as i can get without bugging family.

Preference: Mainly Late 60's, 70's, 80's Rock/Metal, including bands from then that are still around (Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth) and fairly newer bands (Wolfmother, RATM, Mastodon) and some other artists (B-52s, Prince, MJ)
Opinion: I like all the stuff you can headbang to. But I don't like Pop, Or Pop-Rap(Like Soulja Boy, I mean WTF?!). Stuff like N.W.A, Public Enemy, Snoop Dogg is alright.
Why: Because my brothers listen to these and they're a big influence on me.

I think it's fairly funny seeing how many people like Christian music. I personally think that they have the BEST background, but once they start singing, the lyrics make it SOOOO corney and I switch songs.
