Well, apparently, Dissidia:Final Fantasy is an action-RPG akin to Tales of the World. Infact, it seems based off the same idea. Mix a buncha old FF plots together with characters into a 3D, Tales style setting. It seems to also have some similarities to Kingdom Hearts.

Only big thing about FFXII International that seems notable is a liscense and gambit system overhaul.

Discuss this.

Hmm... Dissidias Zidane...

Mr. Belt ruining more great characters. Damn him. Let's hope he doesn't put my poor Firion in.

....What?

In the scan, I saw a Nomura Zidane, and did you see how stupid it was?

So, I don't want my fave characters to be ruined. Setzie has already been ruined for me. Poor guy.

I have to agree with Doople. He looks great.

And personally, I think Nomura made him look FAR better than he originally did. I HATED how he looked before. Now he looks awesome!

I was wondering when someone was going to post this up. I am definately looking forward to seeing how this game turns out! I love the idea of getting all my favorite characters in a game. I just wonder who is going to make the cut! Besides those few we already know that is...

And what is this about FF12 international? I've heard very little on it. Overhaul the gambit and licence system? Hu? O.o

I was under the impression this was going to be a brawler/fighting game, like Jump Superstars or Super Smash bros, not an action RPG.

I mean, I could be wrong, but...

Also, I have no gripes about zidane. He looks like... Zidane.

Altered with lots of belts and even more girly. And Badass?
No way.

Meh, i hated the original art in FF9 myself. I think Nomura actually gave him justice.

Anyways, I want to hear more on this FF12 International. What are the major changes here? I am having no luck finding any good information other than 12 different licence boards... (which, btb, sounds like what my friend would like due to what he was complaining about. He liked it best when everyone more or less had a specific job class. At least, for the main course of the game. Such as if you spent enough time on FF10, you could eventually move into everyone elses territory. But by that time, it was just for fun)

Anyways, whats the juice on the gambit system? Must know more, I am intereted, haha.

Umm... he added ONE belt. Also, the belt he added in his apparent crime against humanity is present in the original Amano drawing. That's right, the guy who did the illustration for the game removed the belt, and Nomura added it back on.

As for him being more feminine, I respectfully disagree.

I rhought that was a new Ehrgeiz(whatever it's spelled) with new characters like Zidane and what looks like that woman from Valk. Profile.

How is milking FFVII for sequels, FFXII for sequels, spreading itself thinly across mobiles and now making more spinoffs not going to hell?

FF7 aside, how are they milking FF12 for sequals? Last I recall, the sequal on the DS is about it. FF12 international is simply a slight remake with the English voice cast and some added materials; just like KH:FM. Which is also probably never going to be released in America.

I dont think they are going to hell. I think they are really going somehwhere; counting they start releasing more games in America!! And for a series as big as Final Fantasy, spinoffs are only natural. An idea like this is what fans have been BEGGING for, for years! They are simply giving the public what they want; at least, the majority. You got a billion different characters, so of course a fighting game is only natural. And wanted greatly, from what i've noticed.

There's only 1 sequel to FFXII...if there are more than that, please inform me.

Also, I meant POST "FFVII milking era". Agreed, they sucked a lot then.

Actually, it seems that the entire concept is pretty much just like Tales of the World. You take the most popular characters from the series, put them into the same game with at least 2 original characters (3 or 4 if you count villains) , and have some plot that involves dimensions or time, and you're set. Namco X Capcom did it, as did the aforementioned Tales of the World series.

That said, this is still kick ass.

Oh, thats what you mentioned before. I got a bit confused, based off what I heard of the game previously. That sounds even better! I know I loved the idea of Tales of the World. Its great for a series that has new characters every game! Not to mention, seeing and getting to use your most favorite characters in the entire series, is always a fanservice you just have to love<3

If it's just a mish-mash of Final Fantasy characters, what would the purpose of having a numeral suffix be? I'm a little confused about that.

I have some definite mixed emotions about this game. It looks rather interesting, and I'd love to play as my favorite Final Fantasy characters, but I'm so old-school biased with this series that I see room for some definite disappointment. Any game after Final Fantasy VIII just makes me sad, and even that one was pushing it. It's a definite rent-first, that's for sure.

A Final Fantasy interpretation of Smash Bros. would actually be fun. I would definitely kill Cloud, Zack (strange how a background character suddenly becomes an idol), Zidane, Tidus, and Yuna repeatedly and with a seasoned blood lust.

@Mercutio: I'm pretty sure that armored fellow in the picture is the cover boy from the first Final Fantasy (remember the FMV from Origins?).
