I am indeed sorry, but I was harrassed constantly by Despain and his band of minions. If you knew what I know, then you would be doing exactly the same, trust me.

As has been said before, Despain isn't a hulking orge who delights in ruining people's fun. If you were being harassed on IRC (and this might seem like an unfair thing to say, but it has to be said,) you had obviously done something to warrant ridicule. No one here does these things without a reason -- only when someone is being unreasonable or outright ridiculous do we stop trying to be helpful.
As for the "things you know..." Are you perhaps referring to the DespainxWumpi cyber log? Because if you are, you have a lot less than you think you do. :P
As for the "you'd be doing exactly the same" comment, that's where you're wrong. I wouldn't abandon an entire forum (and then return to speak of my inner pain) on account of one or two staff members. So you don't like Despain. Is this really something that motivated you to wage quiet war on an entire forum?
So I think George W. Bush is a largely incompetent leader, and has contributed immensely to Islamophobia in North America. I'm not going to leave the U.S. forever and preach to other people about how they should follow my example!

It's like RMXP.org has become the RuneScape of forums. You know, everyone hates it. They don't know why they hate it, and aren't going to admit that, so they join everyone else with whatever their reasons are. And eventually you get tons of people assuming everyone hates RMXP.org, so they post about how it's dying. Just like RuneScape isn't dying; RMXP.org isn't dying.
When talking about staff breaking rules, you gotta remember that however much you hate the staff it's their website. The website is privately run, they are not here to amuse you. Hell, they could shut down the site altogether and just chat with each other via MSN or something like that.

Well folks its time to take the troll hat off and put the mod hat on.
I don't know Despain and DerVVulf from a hole in the wall. I wasn't here for this golden era that was run by CCOA and Erk, so frankly I could care less about when people wax nostalgic about the good old days. But I am old enough to know nostalgia is a viewpoint cluttered by the ignorance of youth and a projection of the way we wished things were. It is hardly ever accurate or fair. It is like being a widower and comparing all of your girlfriends to your dead wife.
Most people I've ever seen partake in it never turned out to be anymore than chronic complainers who wander around the same old conversations day in and day out. They don't want change. They don't want to be happy. They just want their precious ten minutes of attention, because its the only time they feel validated in their unhappiness. Its just like this little thread. DerVVulf could do plenty inside the community to change things. Offer better criticism, provide feedback to moderator actions, and be a model citizen worthy of emulation. Instead he opens a little "look at me baw for teh ppl" thread and invites people to join a little pity party. But what comes of it? Nothing. The nostalgia party has its little circle jerk, and they go back to pretending to ignore this place until another one feels like they need attention so they open a baw thread.
And frankly I've only seen this place get better. Perhaps at its ccoaErk's zenith everything was perfect in Orgy land, but I've noticed steady improvement across the board, particularly of late in EPD which used to be utter shit. I think the members have really started to step up on the feedback in that forum since Jeff set the bar not too long ago. Whether you buy what I'm selling is up to you. But I feel if you actually care about a community and not about stroking your own ego you don't make a spectacle of yourself in this manner. You play the game the right way and demonstrate in your own actions how it should be and generally be a conscientious user.
