Be sad to see you go, you've helped me out a lot while you've been here.
Despain is a jerk, yes. But, he knows the program, he knows everyone on the forums, and he knows how to run a site. I don't agree with some of his methods, but it's quite easy to avoid him by not getting in his way (or not reading the posts that get in his way).
Necroposting? Well, bans probably aren't the way, but there was a big necroposting problem and people didn't listen, even when it warns you with red text (doesn't it?).
Sixty and Venetia becomming admins is a great move. Why? Because if Despain, Teloch, and Treg step out of line (which I doubt they will, because they care for this site) then there's someone there to give them a poke in the right direction.
As to the site nearing an end, people have been saying that for years and nothing has ever come of it. We're getting upwards of 500 people online a day; chat always has loads of membs in it (from what I've seen); and the project forums are anything but empty.
Looking at the stats page there's a quite healthy trend:

January 2008 1814....26663..........1096..........227
December 2007 1622..18525..........861..........228
(Bearing in mind we are only part way through June, I left June's stats off)
I really could have thought this post out better, couldn't I. Sorry about that. Well, seeya, don't suppose you'll reconsider leaving or anything, but just remember (even if it is cliched as fuck) it's the members that make a site not the administration.
(Sixty and Venetia's posts added together come to more than that site has in total.)
