Conditional Branch Problem

Alright I have a common event thats paralell process and the trigger switch is always on. Now, the 1st branch checks to see if X is pressed(which is A on the keyboard). After that, it checks to see if certain armor is equipped. The problem now is even when the armor is equipped, it does not read the tasks for the path when its equipped being true. It will always read the false path. I tried to see what the problem was by changing the branch to if that item was possessed or if a weapon was equipped. Those worked, but for some reason, it keeps thinking the armor isn't equipped when it really is. Anyone know why and possibly a solution to this bug?

Edit: My bad, I accidently posted this in the scripts board. Go ahead and move it to where it's supposed to be

Are you checking for armor that is classified as an accessory?  I discovered a glitch with RPG Maker XP where a conditional branch worked when checking for any type of armor EXCEPT an accessory.  Try different types of armor and see if that makes a difference.

As for a fix to the actual bug, I haven't heard of one.

Could you post a screenshot of the event?  In a case like this, my thoughts go to standard debugging ones.  You'll also want to check that the switch really is on-- I've made that mistake once or twice.    (Easiest check:  Make something else in the event happen that's irrelevant to the armor.

Try adding a "stub".  Just put a text box in both results of the conditional branch, one that says, "Armor equipped", and on that says "Armor not equipped".  At least then you'll know if it detects the correct button being pressed.

Other than that, it looks like your conditional branch should work.

EDIT:  I don't recognize a lot of those database tab names.  Are you working with Postality Knights?  If so, good luck with that.

Does the sound effect play?
I just tried it and and the player's opacity didn't change, but the rest worked. When I set it to change an event's opacity instead, it worked...
So maybe the problem's there.

Edit: I checked it again with a new project and this time it worked. So the problem must be in a script we are both using.

I don't have the 60 bucks to spend on the legal version. There isn't at this point even a script to help fix this problem? Also, even if I bought the legal version, would I be able to use this project in the legal version?

Chances are actually that you would be able to use the project in the legal version.
I have heard loads of reports about that working out well.

It is usually going the other way which is problematic.

Chances are also that the project will not work like projects you create with the legal version.

*hugs*
