Code Geass end [maybe a spoiler or two but nothing serious]

If you've been watching the fan translations of Code geass r2 then you know in a few days the series is sapose to come to an end .

But what a great series it was. I got in to it when the second episode aired on adult swim and just watching the one seemingly random high school kid help a group of terrorist grunts take out a elite military unit flawlessly was just mind blowing.  :thumb:

Its been a while since I became so interested in a anime series, but this was just great. sure the second season just seems like blended vomit to some people (the story does jerk around alot :crazy, I thought it was a interesting way of story telling. It was hard to tell what was going to happen and even now with two episodes left, its still anyones game.

Im sure gonna miss this one
(oh and by the way, Im referring to were the japanese episodes are and not the american ones)

code geass is the reason why anime sucks. and this is coming from someone who is generally an anime fan.

1.) it stars a high school kid who, for some stupid reason, has an adult mentality. this ties into #8

2.) it takes place on earth but for some reason everyone has bright pink and purple hair and shit.

3.) it has giant mechs the kids control with just like 2 switches/levers-- which ties into #8

4.) most of the main character's main support team are also comprised of teens (there is a reason why armies don't allow you to enlist until you're 18 and that's because kids are fucking dumb!)

5.) the main character has a MAGICAL POWER FOR SOME FUCKING REASON (which ties into #8)

6.) all the typical anime archetypes are there! broody, serious boy. happy-go-lucky sweet girl. way-too-serious and "mysterious" chick. gung-ho empowered female. loyal patriot-type boy. Extremely effeminate antagonists. a couple of withdrawn nerds. the whole gang!

7.) true to highschooler anime fashion, there is very bland, uninteresting romance that leads absolutely nowhere.

8.) it tries to be way too many things at once. a mech anime. a war anime. a highschool anime. a magic/arcane anime.

9.) the main character in the dub is voiced by the fag who played Ichigo from Bleach (that guy FUCKING SUCKS WHY DO TEHY KEEP REPRISING HIM FOR EVERYTHING)

10.) it has the dumb emo shit going on with that half-assed "IM REALLY A PRINCE!!!!! LOL BUT IM SAD BECAUSE YOU KILLED DAD OR SOMETHING D: ALSO MY SISTER(?) IS BLIND OMG"

11.) the characters NEED TO EAT A CHEESEBURGER. why is everyone on the planet ANOREXIC???

12.) the main character is JAPANESE but his name is LELOUCH (hint: that's french and also japanese people can't pronounce L's)

Um, it's not that weird? You can like anime without frothing at the mouth over every one, although you wouldn't know it from looking at most of the anime people here. I like action movies, but I still think that Bloodrayne was awful.

Anime is like any other medium -- when it's good, it's good, and when it's bad, well, it's especially bad because some people will name it the messiah regardless of quality.

So that's how Death Note ends? Thanks, you've saved me the pain of sifting through the rest of the series; it's like after *that* happened they just started sticking to a formula without trying very hard to keep it interesting.

Honestly, I've never watched Gode Geass, but judging by
A: the fact that all the main characters are skinnier than Young Miek (and Young Miek was super fucking skinny) except for that one obligatory ULTRA HOT GODDESS chick who I imagine is Venetia's SUPER EMPOWERED FEMALE because that's always how these things go. on its own, it doesn't necessarily break the entire thing, but it says that the author had a predisopsition towards tired and nonsensical conventions in his character design, and that all too often carries over to other aspects of the creative process as well. again, this wouldn't turn me away from a series on its own, but

B: most of its fanbase on .ORG has proven that it has horrid taste anyway. it's the same reason I'm going to run like a raped ape if someone mentions Kamen Rider in the same room.

Maybe I'm being super unfair. I dunno. Point is, though, I see a lot of signs that point to things I don't like in any medium (except mid-80s chinese movies, but that's because they're so over-the-top it always becomes a comedy movie even if it wan't intended to be.)

and about the the geass negative points, I see what your saying but I still feel its one of the best series I've seen yet(below GTO). Seeing as I've never been a over the top anime fan, the clichés don't get to me as much.
