Just like making games is a hobby, playing them is one too. If you post your game for public viewing, you're going to get comments. I understand and respect that it's your game and you can make it about flying underwear if you want, but if you show it to me, I WILL comment on it. That's kind of the whole point to internet forums; you know, friendly discussion among strangers in a relaxed environment.
The thing about fan-games is that they all suck. I've played a few good ones, but they still pale in comparison to original games. I still await the one day a good one is made but until then, I just don't care.
Personally, I just think it's a waste of talent. Chains of Fate has A LOT OF TALENT but instead of striving to move homebrew scene FORWARD, fan games just keep them rooted in one spot. This is just like the guys who were making that awesome Chrono Trigger 3D remake. When Square told them to cease and desist, they simply said "lol canceled." Had they made something original they would have probably finished it and we'd all be playing an excellent game.
But like I said, it's your choice. There's an amazing graphical direction with this and I'm glad it's a lot more original than the previous versions which used all CT graphics (I still have one of the original RM2K3 demo's on my computer). I've followed Chrono Crisis since it was first announced and I've been unconsciously waiting a full release since then but now, seeing the new direction, it's moreso than ever.
Hopefully this game won't turn into another DUKE NUKEM FOREVER (or one of my projects for that matter). You know, VAPORWARE.
