Chowder is cancelled.

Courage the Cowardly Dog still comes on, which is pretty neat. It was one of my favorites when I was younger. Some of the episodes are so fucking surreal and nightmarish though, I wonder how I put up with it as a scaredy-cat kid.

They're showing less and less Flapjack, unfortunately. I still watch Flapjack and Adventure Time, when I can get them both.

Yeah, but I love that episode so much. Naughty.

Some episodes of courage used to scare me and I wouldn't watch them. Like the one with the slab and the three omens. Jesus that man scared the hell out of me. "Bring me the slab"

I remember so many episodes too, though the earlier one were better than the later ones. Some of the later one got, well, lame. They just didnt have the same appeal anymore I guess.

I like the banana suit one. That one was really cute.
And the cockroach in the city who made Courage deliver the bag.
And the moonducks. Both of them.

Jesus a lot of them were actually really cute in a weird sort of way. It was like a strange cute almost. so many memories.

There was some REALLY sad episode of courage that I can't remember what happened, but at the end I felt awful in a sad way. Lots of tiny piano music and I think flashbacks

They are cancelling it because it must not be getting good rating, and no one is buying advertising slots around it. Therefor, no one's getting paid.
A show can be critically acclaimed, but if the major people are not watching it, or the demographic sucks, the advertisers will not want anything to do with it. So, CN's pulling it out to make room for something else.
Shows get cancelled all the time. It's a damn shame for some of the good shows out there, but people don't always watch something that's good.

Sidenote: I don't know what the Nielson ratings for these shows are, but most of the ratings you see are not the real official stuff, I think.

well its not that the ratings were bad (chowder and flap were high rated) they are being faggots and are moving chowder off to replace it with some live action show :/

Yeah, and thats the issue....They're probably looking for that Nick demographic since live shows are getting even higher ratings....and advertisers don't have the same faith in cartoons that they did before.
CN's gotta copy that iCarely show and get some of that stupid shows fanbase.

I'm going to be completely honest here, I rather enjoy watching ONLY ONE of the live action shows Cartoon Network shows. That show is Unnatural History. It's just fun to watch; reminds me of National Treasure.

nickelodeon had live action crap even back in the 80's so it's not a big deal that they have so many of them now (despite their being shit), but

i mean cartoon network was supposed to be what you tuned into to watch cartoons
live action shows on CN make no sense

cartoonists like John K. used to laud Nickelodeon because they were famous for picking up indies & newcomers to the animation biz with fresh ideas. MTV was good about showing a lot of more "adult" animation from indies too. It started to turn sour in the early-mid 90's. Cartoon Network was where the "next gen" of indie animators flocked to next, but now are being turned down due to marketability. The internet is pretty much all these small creative studios have left but the problem is that you can't really make money off youtube and animation is expensive and time-consuming.

real bummer

chalupa thats the show that replaced chowder
Chalupa?

They now play it on Boomerang as well, which is great. Been watching it so far.

I love how it can be so scary.

Personally I never liked Chowder, I always found the art to be hideously unappealing and most of the jokes seemed to ripoff Spongebob Squarepants.
Though I have to admit, I did have a few laughs every now and then (belly goes "CAKE'', or the ''you got to do your best' montage, to summarize a few)

the jokes never ripped off spongebob what are you talking about :x

most of the humor was adult innuendo actually. spongebob was just one hit puns etc (funny though)

meh, Chowder felt very childish imho (It might have something to do with the fact that the dutch voices do in fact make it sound childish instead of professional).

But the thing that really bothered me about Chowder the most was the art style, I just keep hating it D:

Cartoon Network got shitty after Dexter's Lab, Billy & Mandy, Toonami, and all those amazing =>CARTOONS<=. (notice how I put emphasis on "cartoons") Powerpuff Girls was pretty sick I'll admit
