now this one looks like it's taken from full metal alchemist.

I'm looking forward to seeing the first step, then we an move onto bigger and better things!(the next steps :P)

heres a quick 1-2 minute sketch to kinda give you an idea for a good example of a rough figure. used the pose of your second rendition of that first character. its not perfect but it was quick for reference sake.

Lol thanks for the refrence, i've also tried female characters, but that failed epicly :(

Also anyone know where i can find some romantic poses?

or look at the many anime wallpaper websites around. there's more romance/comedy mixed genre amines around than anything else

I mean, I really wish people would stop basing their characters appearance (And in cases, their personalities) from Cloud, I mean, he's one of the worst Final Fantasy characters ever, I wouldn't mind if you tried someone GOOD like, atleast Auron (Since he has a big sword too, but atleast he's got a better framework to base your characters off, especially for backstory...)
Cloud is a pretty bad character. He's basically become the final fantasy character in every game. (every ff character has become just some emo guy with spikey hair)

Anyway...
The sword needs to be done with a ruler the lines were wobbly.
the right cheek looks odd...
and his pantas have a buldge. (lol)
well...yeah...

ok heres my latest work, i havent added any colour becuase i was focusing on porpotion so, please tell me what you think.

But for now what i want you to do is this(and post it for inspection before you move on):

1. Draw a stick figure-type anatomy frame with how the character will be standing.
similar to this
how-bods1.gif

2. flesh it out. ie: draw the muscles etc. make it look like how the person would look (OMG DON'T SAY IT!) naked... but without naked bits... more of a figure sketch.

3. sketch out the BASIC types of clothing the person will wear, making everything basic. i can't emphasise that enough

4. do the detailing in the line work

5. colour *(two steps; a) basic colours, b) highlights and shadows.

Hope i can help :)
Did you not read this post? things are done step by step.
You have done better with the proportion but there are still issues which would have been sorted before you drew everything at once... >.<

I will say that the shoulder joints and the hip joints are linear to each other.

O.O sorry my bad.

Did't read throught it properly i guess.

Edit:

Also i took the chance to colour that drawing in photoshop (My first time at CG) ,well what do you think?

As for the colouring, i'm probably not the best person to give advice on that as i haven't done photoshop colouring in quite a few years, but it's not too bad for a first go.
there are a few good tutorials on www.howtodrawmanga.com

Awesome Bro

... Is he itching his leg ?

I mean sure, the top half of the pose seems okay, although his torso seems to bend a lot, but it IS only a wire frame pose, so I have no problem with that, but I really don't get the legs... care to explain what's meant to be going on ?

I think he is trying to make it look like the character is balancing on one leg, while holding a spear/staff :P
But the way it looks now it looks a little hard...
I tried to do the same pose in the mirror and I lose my balance XD
I think the left leg need to move in a little :P
Just a small notice from me ^^

the center of balance is very much off, his left foot needs to be roughly under his head, maybe even a tad off center of the head to its right. other than that, proportions look to be pretty much dead on. make the proper adjustments to it and try fleshing it out with muscle structure and repost

Im trying to make it look like he is balancing on one leg, as Ellenore has said

ok, great!
now as for the leg issue, what happens when you balance on one leg?
a: you put your leg in the centre of you weight.

what i mean is that balancing foot need to do is support equal amounts of weight on both the left and the right side of it, that way the character won;t fall over.
so, that foot needs to be in line with the centre of the pelvis.

another thing to note is the angle of the shoulder/pelvis line. i dont think there would be very good balance on such a lean, so that makes the pose look a little awkward and unrealistic.
if you want to keep that slanted pose then you will need to have him sitting or standing on two legs or leaning against a wall so that the balance doesn't rely on that leg being in the centre.

next: that lowest ankle joint needs to be right at the bottom of the 6 1/2 head thing. the tibialus(shin bone) is a tad too short in comarison to the rest of the body

lastly (at this point): what is he doing with that raised leg? you need to have him doing something.
one very important thing i live on (as far as drawings go) is "every line is drawn on purpose" and that has as much to do with the poses as it has to do with the thickness of lines and shading.
Pick something more purposefull for him to be doing.

i really dont think i've eer seen someone stand casually on one leg with the other leg up nice and high with such a casual torso. do you understand what i mean? every line is drawn on purpose. don't draw things to fill space or without a reason

:D
