lol, the original demo...the one from like 4 moths ago...wow...that one sucks sooo back.....ugh...

anyways, I finnally finished the first complete demo.

Idk, for some reason, my favorite thing out of the whole game is actually the ending credits, maybe it's just the last thing I made, but I've watched it like 8 times now and is still not tired of it for some reason.

It comes with a bit of pride that I finnally managed to get this far...phew...

anyways, please check my site for the demo, also, I will probably take a long overdue break from working on this, and so don't expect me to update the demo on every little progress.

The demo that is up right now IS THE final version. It is 99% bug/error free, I am 100% sure about that.

It features about a hour of game play, with an ok deal of replay value.

Anyways, I'm just happy that this is finally out, and Jakey, if you've played the original demo, please forget everything you remember about it, lol, and see if you ever get the time to try this one out.

Also, I would really like it if anyone could see if they can take some time to review this game as I am trying to start an reveiw's page for my site, thank you.

Haha, JakeyZombie, you right about people using H/Simulation/SRPG-Game artwork and CGs. I recognize this one, it's Eien no Aselia. Now you're free to do whatever you want, but I can't really connect to those characters since I've already placed their art on their original characters in my mind, so I haven't bothered to read them.

Now Feature-wise everything sounds fine, but your graphical presentation could use some work in my opinion. But we're not all masters, so I suppose that's not too important.

Anyways, I'll give this a shot.

Edit: I've given this a try. It's not bad, but it's not that good either. There are spelling and grammar mistakes galore like reserch and 'Should I go find an doctor?"

The battle system you have set up isn't bad, it's pretty good actually. But you have some balancing problems going on. I nearly got killed in my first battle. The enemies seem a hit a bit too hard. The lack of character animation is a bit of a drag as well, but it's not a killer.You're using ENA art and CGs, but not the awesome battle sprites? What?

Your mapping leaves a lot to be desired. It's not downright terrible, but it's rather bare. The fact that it's straight RTP just brings it down even further for me as well.

Bottom line is: It's got potential, but you need to really step up your presentation and writing. Also, balancing the battles a litte wouldn't hurt as well.
 
What did I tell you? It's another trend in the making, haha.
I'd prefer it if art from a more obscure sim was used.
But hey, what can you do?

Also, yeah. I was going to say...your old demo was awful, haha, I'm going to give this one a go and tell you what I think of it though.
 
lol, yeah, your right about the battle sprites. They are awesome, but I'll need to take out some time to rip them...which I am having serious problems as to how to do so...

The spelling, I'm looking for an capable editor to correct those for me as english is my second language, and my spelling was never that great, especially since theres no spell check in rmxp.

As for the maps, LOL, yes, well, I suck at mapping, what can I say? I have trouble finding tile sets with style that I like, so I'm probably going to stick with the boring rtp tielsets until I can find some good custom ones.

Anyways, I'll try and see if Jimmyly can help me work out by letting me use his battle system, which is frikking awesome XD, and then I'll need the awesome battle sprites pretty soon.

As for the battles, I've never had any troubles beating them. This was targeted to be a sim, but I couldn't it as easy as watching a movie, lol, and up till now I haven't really had anyone say they couldn't beat through it.

Thanks Jakey for trying this new one, I was really disturbed that the old demo couldn't be taken off dispite it being so horrible, but oh well.

As of now, I'm going to start looking for a rom or some way to buy the game in order to rip the sprites.

Right now, this is pretty much the final version other than getting it spell checked and putting in the beastly battle system.
 
Thanks, but the full version, lol, I don't expect myself finishing until at least? probably another year.

However, I'm planning to release a new subchapter or so at least once every two months, the next one is obviously Razril all the way until the dock the ship for the duke's mansion.

Also, I might publish a short novel on my site since I'm also writing this story out as an assignment for an duke tip "Workshop Fiction" class.

I think it's helped me alot since I never actually think about story as it usually just comes to me, but at least I'm organized now.

Anyways, I'm playing and it's not too different from what I remember, I'm going to continue though and edit this post.

I was replying to say that I can look over your english and grammar for this game though, if you want.

You might want to fix up the beginning...um...
Not much else to say, but you might want to take Skie's advice.
 
I know about the spelling errors, there are exactly 18 in all, as found by Dracona shade, so theres really no need to say much about them like I said.

I'll get them firxed soon enough, and Jakey, lol, yeh, I know, I stopped on working on the project after summer started, and only picked up after summer, but I've changed really, ALOT, of stuff.

The content graphic wise haven't really changed, but I've added in many new systems as well as upped the whole quality of the game since then.

As for Skie's advice, I'm currently trying to get the original battle sprites, and the maps I can't really make better. First is I wasn't an good mapper to begin with, the maps in this game is pretty much the level of mapping skills I have. I wouldn't really say their horrible, but I'll agree their boring since their rtp.

I'm going to see if I can get some better help with my mapping, as well as get that battle system down. The one right now is really temporary since I really jsut wanted to release a demo.

anyways, thanks for trying the demo, I'm glad with the crit so far, it does help me make things better. Though theres not much right now, I still appreciate it. As for now, ignore the 18 spelling mistakes, and the "A" "An" mistakes. I don't see them as that important as they'll be gone very soon.

I remeber playing an demo of your game on phanx, I loved it greatly, especially the menus. Anyways, if you to help, I'd really love that. check your pm tomorrow or so so I can get together the uncrypted file. I haven't started working since right now I'm trying to gather material to make things better.

You can make the maps right now better if it's possible, but I'll discript in detail bascially what the next few maps are about.
 
I finished the demo. The game sure has wonderful artwork.
The main character do appear to be rather intelligent, which is a nice change from most main characters. As for Miho, I can't really place her. Is her type more common in dating sims than in RPGs? Regardless, I'm unable to even guess whether I'll like her or not.

I have also encountered a bug. Sometimes after the lolibait arrives at Avion's door and she's put in his bed, I can't move Avion. I can access the menu and there move the cursor and I can even "talk" to the girl, but I can't move Avion from the spot. I did once manage to go through that scene without that bug triggering, so it isn't a consistent bug.

@Crystalgate: Thanks as well, the art work was not by me, but I like them as well. I've never actually played the original game before, I just found this pack of cg flipping through the internet, and it really motivated me. Now though, I've serached the game a few times, and I even found out that there was an ova made for it, lol, oh well, I still like it non-the-less, and I plan on continuing it.

As for the bug, I really thought I had fixed that before putting up the demo.

Anyways, I fixed it before, and your the first who's encountered it again. Well, at least it's not constant. I'll have to look into it, thanks for reporting it.
 
Aselia is very nice game and HARD, i didnt even finished 1 stage :P
I like to know do you want to use Aselia faceset and battler? because i have it in my HD

Btw could you put battle screenshot? i like to see it
 
hm, well, like I said, I don't have the complete set of cg or battlers at all, since I've watched the commercials and reviews for the original game, and I probably only have like 65& of the cg that doesn't include H. And sure, I could probably use those battlers and facesets as well, cuz I don't have any good face sets right now.

Anyways, as for the battle system, it's not THAT good at all. I just complied some simplke scripts together, and it's temporaty. I'm going to use trickster/minkoff's RTAB.

And the battles right now arn't that important, as theres not really an real dungeon yet, but the first major quest/dungeon is the main focuz of Chapter one, which I will probably release by the end of christmas. Hopefully, I'll hae it all done by then.

What I reAlly want to find is the original batters for this game, cuz I can't seem to find or rip it anywhere. I'll probabl just have to make my own in the end, oh well.

I got the same bug twice, always after I'd decide to help Miho with the laundry. Ugh, and I even got it a third time after doing research or whatever. ':| What I've seen so far wasn't horrible, though. It looks like a good enough start, grammar and spelling errors aside. Good luck working on the rest of your project. :)
 
hm...that is very weird....I have looked into it, but it hasn't happened for me yet....

I'll run some more tests with other people.

If you encounter this bug, please report it here, and tell me exactly what you did, choice wise.

that is pretty weird though...oh well

Anyways, I want to take a bit of time to ask that if anyone ever gets around to it, I'd REALLY love it if anyone here can write an reveiw of this game. I want to have an reveiw page on my site.
