Can a president still get shot?

Meh, until given otherwise I assume people do bad things with the best of intentions, it's human nature to need to believe that what you're doing is right. I find it a stretch to believe Biden thinks his drug policies are harmful but does it anyway because it'll get him votes, he doesn't exhibit that kind of cynicism and I don't see what he has to gain from it besides a moderately well-paid job.

Thanks for the link, btw, going to listen to it here.

I won't vote for Mccain because he was quoted "Atheists are not americans". That's freedom of religion, eh? And I'm definitley not voting for Obama, because he had close ties with a racist.

And can a president still be shot? Of course! You can never full proof any area, especially given how far sniper rifles can be shot accurately from.

Jesus Christ.  Source the McCain quote if you are going to claim it exists.  Frankly I think you are likely just parroting an internet rumor of no merit.  In fact it sounds awfully similar to a something George H. W. Bush said back in 1987.

Second its fool proof.  Nothing is fool proof.  Like this forum for example.

That was Bush, on a news interview. There was a scare amongst religious people in McCain's 2000 campaign actually because he does not harp on religion, and has been represented as a person who's faith is "in his country" not in religion, e.g. religious nationalism. I'm not sure if that came out of his mouth or not, but many of his 2000 supporters were big on that and considered it a positive thing. It's been conveniently forgotten this year by the religious right, who are convinced that all democrats are heathen Satan worshipers and Moslems, ruling out Obama as a candidate of choice despite his clear religious faith.

I don't know about racism, I think most people know people who are at least mildly racist, especially older family members. Those of us who aren't racist don't like it, don't approve of it, and don't have a problem telling them so, but that's not a reason to cut all ties with a person. Racism is a fact of life for the older generation, the only way we can deal with it is to tell them how we feel about it and do everything we can to stop it. That's what Obama has done with Wright (and has since cut ties with him completely) so I don't know what else you want.

Political violence in this election is unlikely. Unless the Republicans cheat (or look very much like theyre cheating) in this election, violence is unlikely in the next two election ('10 and '12)

what are his drug policies exactly?
He's a hard-nosed drug enforcement hound. For instance he supports the Byrne program, in which the government funds locally staffed drug task forces who are not accountable to local police and whos funding is based on volume of arrests. In the past couple decades since it was put into affect Byrne program task forces have been involved in hundreds of scandals across the nation, from deaths resulting in illegal no-knock warrants and paramilitary raids on non-violent offenders, some of them with marginal amounts of drugs, to instances such as on in Tulia, Texas where 48 black men - about half the black men in the community - were rounded up in a paramilitary raid and subsequently imprisoned for drug offenses based solely on the testimony of a known racist undercover police officer (they were released on appeal after 4 years in prison).

Another good example is a woman who got 19 years in prison based solely on the testimony of an ex-boyfriend and drug dealer who claimed she was involved in his drug operation - these guys get breaks on their sentences based on how many people they turn in; he named off just about everyone he knew and in exchange got something like 7-9 years (I don't remember the specifics). Not a scrap of evidence was found to support the indictment, but under federal rules heresay is good enough to put a person in jail for nearly two decades, even if the source is completely unreliable and has a huge incentive to lie. You can find that story and some others in the link from Ixis, above.

Biden was instrumental in, and a huge supporter of, the laws that resulted in these things happening, and they're not isolated circumstances either, they're just a few off-the-top-of-my-head examples out of thousands across the nation.

No, he said he'd stop the feds from raiding legal cannabis dispensaries in states where it can be prescribed by doctors and dispensed legally, such as California.

Which is another completely FUBAR decision by the government.
"It's ok to grow pot for people sick and in need of help, but not if we catch em'!"

Since marijuana got thrown in with the other hardcore drugs most ignorant people think it's "omg dangerous" and that hippies will start running over children who hang out by Wendy's ALL OVER THE COUNTRY!! It's so stupid and such a joke that I can't believe politicians actually think they're doing good. "Hey kid, you sat next to Jimmy who smokes pot at lunch the other day and traded Pokemon with him. We have the evidence on tape, so now we're going to prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law and send you to adult butt-fuck prison!"

Yeah well, state governments and the federal government aren't supposed to be the same entity. The federal government has a few enumerated rights and the rest are reserved for the people and the states. Nowhere in the constitution does it say anything about a right to overrule state laws on the growth or sale of plants using paramilitary force, so I wouldn't call it "a FUBAR" decision, I'd call it an unconstitutional, illegal abuse of power resulting in unauthorized use of deadly force which is also called treason and murder in some places.

Hm...that sounds horrible.  Makes me worry about Biden...but my personal choice for VP would have been Bill Richardson.  Still, he's better than Palin who thinks that she's experienced in foreign policy because Alaska is next to Russia (nevermind that it's land that happens to belong to Russia that's even more decrepit than Alaska is...whom does she see across the Bering Strait with her incredible long-range vision, convicts in Siberian work camps?)

Haha sorry. Obama behaves as moderate, he doesn't like being controversial because it's damaging to an unestablished political career such as his. There was a great show on McCain and Obama's histories last night on Frontline, I suggest surfing over to the PBS website and checking it out sometime, I learned a lot about both of them.
