Here's what I was able to sprite with the template and the tutorial:

I did it all in photoshop, any color of hair can be done if necessary. I just need to work on some clothing. Any suggestions so far?

EDIT: I added some clothing. Something doesn't look right though.

you shouldn't use so many desaturated colours, and a normal shirt doesn't reach that far down.

You should work on the side view shirt a little, at the moment he looks like he has a bit of a belly, but only in side view.

The colours are way to dark BlogDog/Sen. Look at Green Raven's charactersets and you can easily destinguish the style he wants with the breeze. They all have a darker outline which stands out.

Brighten the colours up and add some contrast and detail in both the hair and clothing so everything doesn't look flat and it should look much improved.

Edit: Thought i'd show you what i was talking about. Heres an example, you can see the changes i said to make and the end product is much better.
