Breeze Revolution Revolution

photobucket has a horrible habit of resizing, likewise both photobucket and imageshack are known for their useless clatter and annoying as hell navigation and upload placement and method.  It's like using myspace as a journal/blog (ha - remember online journals? god i feel old . . . ), too much crap that you don't need compared to what you want, and the simplicity in which you want it.

On topic:
I swore I commented on these already but apparently I didn't :x
I actually don't like them, but I find them to be better done in general than the breeze.  I find the breeze more appealing because of it's general cartoony (including some of the palette choices) nature.

Yours is fine on it's own though it seems too simple on it's own, but the connotation as an improvement seems iffy since it's all opinion and the reference made me think of it vs. the breeze template instead of initially thinking of it on it's own.

The template itself, as I said, seems simple and kind of drab but the sprites made from it that I've seen swerves that around.  Still a bit small for my liking, good job overall.  Absolutely love the feet.

Yeah, sixty. This is a lot less an updated Breeze and more of an anser to the whole Breeze Revolution bullshit, which encourages a lot of bad practices, particularly in color choice. Once I started on it I just took it far enough to be something on its own, but I already had a bunch of the post written up and ready to advertise it as an improved Breeze.

Really, it's a new template on its own with a style. It would appeal to a lot of the same people who use the Breeze, I think. It's also fun as ahell to sprite on.

The more I play with this the more that I like it.

I think the thing that gets me about the Breeze set is that it's more of a Pokemon style rather than the Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger style of RTP (Which I personally like along with Half-Kaizer which has no tiles sets at the moment)

Also I saw Xelors from wakfu earlier in this topic >_>

My point still stands that it seems jabby more of itself than an actual template - not in spirit or usage, or attempt, but merely in the advertising.  Which is fine, that was the whole intent.

The 2nd dude, with the froish hair and beard... now that's strangely bad ass standing not far away from a guy in a suit and a monocle.

To be honest I think your opinion is semi correct. Those games it was originally geared towards are ones to look like pokemon or the new zelda 2d games. While this template is more inline with the FF6+ crowd. Maybe even 4 and up is pushing it.

Half-Kaizer is its own thing in my eyes, I've seen very few games that use sprites that big commercially unless they are for some sort of cutscene.

@Missingno: To be completely honest. In the past months since I even released Breeze Revolution, i've particularly seen nothing astonishing that I would add to the RTP maybe a few pieces here and there, but a lot of it is half done and or not worth collecting. I've never supported poor spriting habits and actually encouraged people to make their own new palettes and add them, because they not only learn to use different colors, but also make diversity... You don't know how many times in a week i see sprites using the same old palettes and they just look horrendous, so bad that I just refuse to reply to those topics, and quite lately I've simply looked at a few BR topics that peak my interest and end up closing them after a quick glance cause I am tired of reiterating the same thing i've said before multiple times before and people still don't understand.

The whole basis behind BR was to create a "decent" RTP in the Breeze Style, it was an open resource gathering project where anyone can contribute, but only the good stuff will end up making the cut, so far I just haven't seen that many that make it, so it simply sits on what feels like a stand still.

Could I get something clear? This may seem a stupid question but, could we sprite on these? I was just puzzled because I saw that no one actually did sprite on them, and that they're not added to the templates archeive.

Of course you can.

They haven't been added to the template Archive because that topic is going to be completely remade soon (possibly as an actual small web page rather than just a topic).

Oh ok then, thank you Missingno. And I didn't know the Archive is going to be remade.

So since I can sprite on this, I'll be opening a workshop very soonly.

Wow, Despain. Though, we don't always see eye-to-eye, I must say, you've done a very good job with this template. It's quite tasteful. And the palette is perfectly suited for the style. Two thumbs up, and keep up the good work.

P.S If you could get a gun into this template's hands, I'd worship at your feet forever ...
