??? What? no i was replying to Chromaticed...
but yes i did

wow, this looks really good
The maps have a definite 'Arabian' look too them
Im downloading the demo right now and i'll post my feelings shortly! :]

Played the demo for abit.
I thought the cutscene bit at the start was really well made (although several grammatical errors)
I REALLY liked the arabian town, it had the right atmosphere and looked great.
I was cracking up at the Beggar/OldMan/Homeless fights xD

The one thing I think would add some realism to the game would be to make the NPC's
talk. I know you have alot and it'd take awhile. I think it would make the game more realistic
and help the player slip into the arabian world!
Another thing i'd like to add: Maybe you should cut out some NPCs in the town, they get in
my way alot and make the game more tedious

Hey everyone  I'm bumping this thread because the full demo will be released monday the 3rd unless some unforseen detail prevents me from releasing it. basically 90% of the main diolouge has been re-writen, the houses in tansim have interiours, a few bugs have been fixed, mapping fixes and there are now some weapon salesmen, the desert is (slightly) easier to traverse I changed some other less important stuff as well.

those two latest screenshots are really nice. this game looks much better than most of the stuff around here, if only because your setting gives your gave a great unique flavor.

Trailer gone demo gone interest gone

Ehhhh

I mean, it's looking nice. Nice setting, decent maps. The town map kinda overwhelmed me with the size. I hope you can make it as interactive as it's supposed to be.

Aside from that, Marcus has 5 solid points on the 1st page. Might wanna pay more attention to that

Anyway keep it up, at least it's not "hero lives in mountain village wich gets burned by monsters and he goes out to save the world"

so this has been released for about a week. has anyone played it because i would like some feedback before i continue making the game.

also heres what the new city looks like at the moment

Wow.

I read over the story, and I really like it. I don't know why it has my attention, but I really like this. Then I saw the screens, and it looks great. I'm downloading the demo now, I'll critique when I'm done.

Keep going.

Oh wow. Disappointing. I was about to go set Andre free, but I was attacked by beggars, then two guards, I fought as hard as I could, 5 critical hits didn't kill one of them, and my potions ran out. Game Over... Guards are way too hard imo.

The grammar and dialog could use some patching up. The graphics are fine and there aren't many mapping errors I've encountered so far. I recommend getting a mini-map script since the city is hard to move through at times. The non-talking crowd of npc lingering around town are bothersome to move though as well. That were some of my thoughts about the game. Now to do my homework  :dead:

Your maps. YOUR MAPS! I bow to you, sir.  However........I'm gonna say that they're actually *too* large.  *too* complicated.  There's not enough detail to make important places memorable - I actually walked back into my house by accident after I left (by way of looping around the market).  Also, there's some major issues with getting around - NPCs get in the way and then they don't move.  Or, you can't go in front of/behind a box or a building.

Also, there's this mapping error I found...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v413/ ... gerror.jpg[/img]

In addition, I feel like you didn't really make it clear as to who was who in the main 4 characters at the beginning.  I originally thought Tarique was the cloak guy, and I can't remember what the rest of them look like.

Also, I couldn't help but laugh the entire time I played the demo. Your humor is spot on (in breaking the 4th wall), but there are certain aspects that just need to be fixed.  How they just....don't move.  At all.  They'll say something, and you won't know who's saying it - they don't move! Or they sliiiiiiiiide across the floor (brilliant bit of humor after that, though).  And those sword fights? Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.  It looked like they were wiggling the swords at each other.  Again, very humorous though, so if you're gonna leave those animations in, milk them for all they're worth.  And certain things just take too long - standing and not moving on purpose really shouldn't take more than a couple frames, in my opinion.  Also, there are some NPCs that don't move at all, too, making travel even more difficult whenever a moving NCP decides to stand right next to a stationary one.

Last but not least, you need to fix your spelling like woah.  If you need to, literally take alllllll of the lines you have and put them into Microsoft Word.  Journal, not 'jornal", etc...

Yeah, probably best to avoid battleing soldiers unless you have at least 3 people... I made them hard on purpose though, beacause i didn't want many battles you could just win by ataking over and over again. And secondly because the main charachters are theives and the enemies are trained soldiers so they shouldnt realy be able to beat them easily.

A new version or the bemo has been added because i found a glitch that ends the game in the tunnel, this fixes it, has better spelling but still not perfect, and has a few new things.

You have a good demo right now but still you need to work more on it.

I've played the demo and found some errors and things that would be good to work some more.

1- There are a lot of annoying NPCs walking on your way and sometimes you have to wait to move on.

2- When you interact with some events they change it's character sprite.

3- As everyone says, spelling problems. Try to use different translators, that's what I do. I'm Spanish.

4- It's hard to know who is talking without a portrait or something like that.

5- It's easy to get lost.

I like the previous battlers, the sprited ones and if they were facing up, that would be perfect.

The rest is good enough to keep my interest. I want to see this finished, if you need help let me know.
