A Wayward Dream [Front page updated]

Hmm it's hard to say. There's the intro then there's game play then there's part 2 of the intro then the game actually starts. You do one mission then the demo ends.

Malick your screens look great! I seen your comments in the screenshot thread too. I didn't even notice the stairs thing, or anything else wrong. I'm fine with the use of the vines in the 2nd one as well.

What tilesets did you use? Where did you find them?

Tilesets are by me with some components from various other tilesets.

I'll definately give you credit for making such a pretty topic. The pictures look wonderful. The same goes for your screenshots and title screen, your mapping's quite nice. About the font... I don't care what the others say, I like it. It completes the look you were going for, and really isn't that hard to read.

In terms of story and characters... not much is given yet, so I can't really come to any conclusions. I'll just keep my hopes up for those pieces.

All in all, this looks quite promising. ^^ I look forward to playing the demo!

Thanks. I'm really working on graphics at the moment. Coyotecraft is ripping through the battlers like butter so every thing's going really well. Tilesets are my main focus atm. I'm thinking of revamping the synopsis with more information about Euphoria.

I don't want to come off as an ass, but what's up with the Nadir's Canon-esque clothing on some of the battlers? The battler for Alania looks strikingly similar to Nola--the clothing is almost exactly the same and the hair isn't too far off either. The same goes for Dennis. I'm not even sure how exactly you got it in the first place, but he's definitely wearing Quinn's clothing in some of those screens. I can understand pulling influence for tilesets, but taking elements of main character design seems kind of strange, especially without any mention of credit.

I'm sorry, Euphony. I was going to place credit when I released the demo. If you wish me to change what they look like I will. I also believe I sent you a PM not son long ago regarding this subject. If you somehow didn't get then well..yeah.
My apologies.

Ah sorry, my forum activity (and my mind) has been all over the place this summer, so I wouldn't be surprised if I neglected a few PMs. I'll have to go back and check for it.

It's not that I don't want anyone to use them--I'm actually very flattered that you pulled influence from me, but I just think that you can do better in terms of design. =P

My own characters all tend to have a similar, conservative look to them because of the style of their world, but for your world where your characters have distinct designs/styles, it seems odd to have two characters singled out in the same style. I can't really stop you from using the designs, but I do think that you have the ability pull out something a little more original for those two. Not calling my own character designs unoriginal, but they aren't the most diverse either. =P
