Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Maker

GAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!

Sixty, you really are a chronic deleter.  Good thing Toadie's on the wiki, it's just gonna take some Photoshop manipulation then.

All righty, need food right now, but I'll play around with this on my comp when I get back.

the only toadie things i have left are unscanned (can't scan) and crap in photobucket
i just put it in lab rat's "safe keeping" thread.  it includes the only 2 "fanart" I still have and only the original image with different edits like boarders and stuff (and one lines only) :(
it probably won't help :(

God that frigging sucks :pissed:

If you had somehow managed to use paint even, or something to zoom in and screen cap to be super primitive about it, and used a better sized images I could've laughed.

though i will still be amused over wyatt.

The design of YuGiOh cards sucks anyway. Well, not just YuGiOh, but just about all trading cards out there (including MTG - don't kill me Des I have a family). I mean, it's all just squares shoved in with a shitty background that looks like a child made it, with some numbers added in. The only decent thing there is the actual character artwork, which with this YuGiOh card maker is taken away and replaced with whatever shit members plug in :/

um, what? the design of mtg cards is pretty much FLAWLESS (other than the back which can't be changed) and despite all the bad things i say about yu-gi-oh i will say that the cardface layout is nicely designed. the only problem i have with it is that i think that the font is generally waaaay too small and the pictures could stand to be much smaller (especially since anime-style tend not to be too detailed anyway), but the basic layout is solid.

what? i hope you're trolling. if you seriously don't understand the purpose of efficiency and readability in these cardface designs then you need to take a step back and think HARD about things. a well-designed tcg is much harder to design than pretty much any other kind of game and if you spend some time studying magic (or even yu-gi-oh) design you'd probably learn a LOT that could be applied to other games (especially since you're making games that are designed to be played online by multiple people, you could learn a LOT about balance from tcg design)

i DARE you to try and find me any tcg that you think has a better card layout than magic or yugioh

The layout itself is good, I just *personally* don't like backgrounds that look like 2 minute photoshop jobs with a pattern fill or whatever. A really cool design could be made, not cool as in in-your-face but something actually related to the card game, rather than just "this is a fire card -> add red background with filter".

By "a bunch of squares" or whatever I said I didn't mean it like it came out; I mean it looks like a bunch of squares from first glance; they look too... I dunno, like a template with a picture added in. The lines don't even match up, and the bevels annoy me. It'd be better if the border used around the text box was used throughout rather than the bevel.

Ok evidently when I searched for a MTG card before it didn't come up with an MTG card (or a really old one anyway) or something, they look a lot better (the one I found was a SPANISH INQUISITION card which looks completely different to a Magic card).

um what? this? i don't get how you can think that looks "completely different to" a magic card when it is a fan-made magic card using magic's own layout?

also are you seriously complaining about texture backgrounds. i mean even though that has absolutely nothing to do with the layout of the card, they aren't prerendered photoshop effects and they are much more flavorful than a solid color.

yeah you don't know what you're talking about so
