Your Opinion Is Needed

I am a writer and as of now my plan was to make a writers website (e.g. George R. R. Martin or Stephen King), but I have hit a small nail in the wall. Now I am not sure how many of you read or even have a author who which you go and visit their site/blog, but I hope you can give me your opinion in any case.

Now most writers have a website or blog; in some cases both. I was thinking of just doing a simple forum that could act as my site and blog all in one. This has idea has nice concepts with it that would allow me to interact better with my future readers. I am just wondering what you think about this. Yes, no, maybe so?

You can try to pull it off, I don't see why you couldn't. I'm sure fans of your titles will visit if they know of its existence. Then again, in this case, your userbase will probably be limited to the people who really enjoy a title.
