I think so. Ive liked Soule before the elder scrolls stuff though, all the way back to secret of evermore, which also has an amazing ost

oh also ecco the dolphin

oh how did i forget that :O
i actually have all the songs DL'ed on my work computer to listen to, including the ones from later games and the rehashed mp3 versions from sega CD

ecco's was really really effective

how has no one said Silent Hill? it's just loads of industrial noise and drone music which is so unsettling and fits the tone perfectly

Just so people know, OST means Original soundtrack, so games whose soundtracks are mostly licensed music (like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Burnout) do not count.

BTW which Ecco are you talking about.  Isn't there more than one?

The games are
    * Ecco the Dolphin
    * Ecco II: The Tides of Time
    * Ecco Jr.
    * Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future

So when someone says "Ecco the Dolphin" it's presumable that they're speaking of Ecco 1.

There are a lot of video game OSTs out there that I like. It's hard to pick just one. Of course many of my favourites are from the Mother series (who would've guessed) like the Onett song, Pokey Means Business, and Unfounded Revenge. I also like many songs from Pokemon Red and Blue. They have so much nostalgia.

1. Donkey Kong Country 2

2. Banjo Kazooie

3. Donkey Kong 64

4. Banjo Tooie

5. Donkey Kong Country 3

you may notice that every single game there is made by rare.  i love rare's music.

I suggest listening to Stickerbrush Symphony, Fungi Forest, Click Clock Wood, Witchyworld, and Treetop Tumble.  Those are definitely amazing works of musical art.  Witchyworld not so much, it's just my favorite level in Banjo history so I'm sort of biased towards it.

Oh yeah, Evermore's music was awesome. I still get it stuck in my head once in a great while and I haven't played the game in years. I had no idea Soule did that, but it makes sense since Evermore was done by the ill-fated American Squaresoft studio IIRC.
