Yes, it's another nTitles error (but I've tried everything)

Hello!

Just as the topic title says, I've tried restarting my computer, running in compatibility mode, running in admin mode, mucking with the registry...basically everything short of wiping my HD.

Anyway, it's been a while since I opened RMXP and played with it, so I decided to after showing my friend a game (the game worked perfectly). When I tried to open the file, I got the famous nTitles error. I then went online and tried everything I could find, even the sticky topic that's probably currently above this one.
NOPE, still get the error.

Any ideas on what I should do?

The official cause of the nTitles error is having no internet connection on the computer that has RMXP installed on it. If the registry edits aren't giving you an expired trial period, then it's going to be a computer issue. What OS are you on, do you have an internet connection, and did you actually install those edits as a batch file or insert them directly into the registry?

I'm on Windows Vista.

Yep, I do have an internet connection. At first I thought it was my wireless acting up (since it has a habit of doing that) but even with an ethernet cord, it doesn't work.

I followed your directions on changing the registry info in the 'Running RMXP on Vista' thread.

Ahh, hmm... it might be, since I am at school...
I'll try again when I'm at home (in about a month) and see if it works then.
Thanks for letting me know about that one.

Well, because the internet at school died, I had to go use a public area (no proxy internet), and I decided to try open RMXP again, but it still gave me the same error...

Any ideas?

If you are able to modify the registry, and you have a valid key, I recommend trying the last tip in my tutorial, which should give you an expired trial.
