Funny thing, SEGA pulled a Dreamcast (or, I guess it would be more accurate to say the Dreamcast pulled a Genesis) and released the Gen almost 2 years before the SNES ever came out and yet the genesis was STILL more powerful than the SNES and was cheaper too.  Contrary to popular belief by nintendofags and squarefags, the Genesis actually outsold the SNES for almost 4 years and was the most popular console on the market.  Nintendo made most of its money from the Gameboy handheld market.  It wasn't until the whole "ZOMG CD REVOLUTION" when Sega started experimenting with the Sega CD and other competing consoles like the 32X, Jaguar, 3DO, and Playstation started coming out that the SNES took the lead because SEGA stopped focusing on 3rd party developers and new games in favor of CDs.

And for those of you who always say "gaymerz these days only care about teh graffix" you couldn't be more wrong.  Early gamers were the most vain graphics whores in the history of gayming.  SEGA's entire ad campaign for the Genesis was how much better it looked than the NES and how the sound chip was superior (and it was superior to both the SNES and the NES).  They even marketed the thing towards "older gamers" by featuring darker grittier games and people ate it up.

Man... SEGA used to be a good company until they actually stopped caring about their audience.  Now they're crap.

You couldn't be more right. And although its true that many a gamer is a "Grafix Whore" these days, keep in mind that the Wii is outsellling everything on the market and has the least capacity for graphics.

i don't know what sonic games you've been playing but they've all been pretty horrible since the original sonic adventure.

Castlevania: Bloodlines, Toejam & Earl, and I don't know if it counts since it's Sega CD but Snatcher was the only reason to get a Sega CD system...and a damn good one at that.

Seeing as Sonic 2 and Streets of Rage were my first games, I'd have to mention those, right? :x

Well, yeah. The original three Sonics(although I only had the 2nd, my aunt had the 1st at her house and my friends had the 3rd at theirs)

Streets of Rage 1 & 2 were the SHIT. I beat it everyday.

And of course, World of Illusion staring Micky Mouse. That game was badass.

And last, but not least..uh..some NHL game I had. It was cool. :D You could fall through the ice and die!
