Ye olde Megadrive/Genesis games

Wow, I don't know how I got the thought, but I started thinking about my way old megadrive, the console released like, late 80's or something, the games kinda sucked hard, yet we played them anyway because we were so amazed ! (Well, for me anyways haha), and I'm thinking, which was my favourite game for the system ?

The problem is, I forgot the name, haha, however, I can remember it...

You played as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, going through a series of levels, when you attacked they kinda whacked with a pillow or something, I can remember one level, you were small, and like, the level was just a row of christmas lights, and the background was a christmas tree (It was christmas, haha XD), and me and my brother (Like age 3 + 4) ALWAYS did that level.

So yeah, that was my favourite game, haha. What was yours ?

Lol yeah, thats the name for it in the UK, I'll change it to say Megadrive/Genesis, lol.

My favorites on Genesis were Phantasy Star 2 and 4 (I know, big surprise).

That game was legendary.

Also there was a great Sylvester and Tweety game, Sonic/Echo/Lion King ofc and COMIX ZONE which was one of the most original settings ever.

Eh. Sonic and Echo are the stuff of legends. And the Phantasy Stars games were great, but unfortunately I played them a little later; I was too young at the time when they came out to read English. Action games are fine if you can't read anything, but RPGs? Bah, humbug!

Anyway, I'll say, the best Genesis game ever was : The Lost Vikings. Although not actually exclusive to the Genesis, it rocked, O!, so much!

NHL '96 was pretty cool too in multi player.

as a kid, i had a genesis, and i've played like every game to ever hit the pawn shop down the street (a lot of them tbh), or the flea market. i cant rememebr half of them, but beavis and butthead is the ebst genesis game there is imo. :}

Quakshot was a classic starring Donald duck. I used to play that for hours on end firing plungers at walls. I used to also FORC my brother to play Castle of Illusion with me every morning before school. He's 4 years older than me, so you can imagine how much he DIDN'T want to play that game when I was 7-8 :P

Ah, Stevo's avatar reminded me!  The ToeJam and Earl games!  The first one was the most entertaining, while the second one had the better graphics.  I beat the first; never could get through the second.

golden axe was so badass. i used to play it ALL the time with my friends and never got past the 4th level. my friends always would die off, then leave me to fight that big fucking knight who'd just haul ass all over me


btw tj&e 2 is kinda underrated, just because it isn't as inventive as the first. the visuals are AMAZING for a genesis game. everything is so colorful, and creative, and so god damn well designed. the game was a masterpiece in that sense. but it was too fucking hard, and i never beat it D:

also fire shark is the most entertaining UPSCROLLING PLANE SHOOTER i've ever played (best soundtrack too)

the genesis was the superior console of this generation by far
