XP style sprite

I'm working on a game using rpgmaker XP and i'm trying to add my own flair to the charset sprites, while also trying to make it fit the XP world.

Here is my currently only completed sprite.

The head was actually done using a VX sprite, but the body should fit the XP sprite. Any tips on what i can do to improve it?

it's not bad. it's kinda hard to make out the face.

It's hard to see any detail because a)you used dark shades for both sprite and  background, it's hard to see anything but the hair, and b) you didn't use imgzoom.  Other than that, the only I can see that looks wonky is those white stripes - tone 'em down a bit and use some shading on/around them.

thanks for teh comments! i'll try to add more contrast to the white stripes.

and as for the dark background, i coiuld have sworn i set it to transparent, and i thought it was just my computer being retarded.


and i didn't know about imgzoom until just now >>;
