Would this work?

Hey guys, I didn't know where else to put this so here it is:

For the opening scene in my game, I'm going to have the main character walking across the desert while the credits are rolling. for the actual desert map, it's just going to be plain sand, no decorations. What I need to know is, will this still look alright? There will be like a sand storm raging but whenever I put anything else in, it just don't look right.

Help?

Assuming the ugly font and sprite are just WIP, right?

It would work okay, considering the text would be the focus. However, might I suggest something that would be just as easy and would be siginificantly less boring?

Drop the fog is my first suggestion. Fogs always detract from things, even if the maps are inherently bland like this.

Obviously it's only a few seconds edit, but ignore the quality.

It gives the same impression- an open desert, but has a more cinematic feel. And it's totally doable with an easy scrolling panorama.

Despite Despain's rude comment, I must agree with him on the fog and panorama.  However, I very much prefer your text font because it's less generic.  The fog makes it appear that clouds are traveling overhead, which isn't the case in most deserts, I believe.  Also, depending on where this desert is, you could add some monuments (pyramids or something like that) to the panorama.
