Worst "Innovations"

Nintendo has been ruining themselves too, I think it started when they made great platformers like Mario do stupid sports games.

lol so nintendo has been going down the tube for seventeen years?

also stop posting please and thanks

The whole wolf thing in TP was a total waste of time. I mean, TP was pretty bad by it's own right, but the wolf sections made it worse. Midna was also one of the most annoying characters ever. Navi at least only talked once in a while, not everytime you pressed A.

Fable's Dynamic and evolving world, they kindof dropped the ball abit there.
Fable 2 is gonna be much, much better, just to let you know. I was disappointed with the first Fable too, when they promised all these things. But F2 is gonna be bigger and better...or so they say! I'm taking their words for it.

I beg to differ about Fable 2 being better.. Granted, they've got some very unique ideas with the game, such as the way multiplayer is implemented, but if you read the previews on IGN's website, they ruin the game (at least for me) by telling you what's going to happen to a big part of the story; not IGN, but Lionhead Studios. Needless to say, I'll probably rent the game just because I know a couple friends are going to get it and I want to see the m-player for myself, but as far as buying it.. no.

If you don't want the story ruined before you get the game.. don't read any previews about the game.

HEY LISTEN OVER HERE HEY

I thought Gambits in FF12 were absolutely stupid, because you can pretty much just autopilot once you get a couple of good ones.

Moving Sonic to 3D... not exactly an "innovation" but claiming to be "innovative" to the Sonic games was an insult to the Sonic fans.  Actually everything after adding Tails, the 2nd player who could never die which was actually pretty cool (albeit cheesy) was a great waste of effort and "innovation"

Virtual Boy could have been cool if it wasn't the Virtual Boy and didn't give your eyelids suicidal cancer cells that bombarded your equilibrium for belonging to a different church...

After that I'd have to say the Wii's massive obsession with motion sensitivity is the worse innovation in recent times that isn't built on past "innovations" that sucked balls, so they're trying to make up for it.

Yeah that's right I said it.  The Wiimote and all that jazz is a horrible idea.
It's the GREATEST idea to come in modern times for you kiddies, which modern really only implies the last 3 years, but god damn it.  They're selling it to fat kids, and it cut the market down on a lot of games that could have been, because so many people are so caught on motion sensitivity that they either change games to use it - which can be great, or drop the game itself, despite the fact they really don't have to.

It's really not the motion capability, or the Wiimote's limited buttons, because you don't have to use it.  It's really just the idea people have in their heads over it, and how you can't have a game that doesn't utilize it, and how for a long run moving a ball around a motion world or playing the same old minigames is running over the Wii.  Blah.

Are you aware SEGA practically invented the Wii on Dreamcast over 10 years before Nintendo brought up the idea? You could use the fishing controller to play the tennis games.
SEGA should've made the Wii, not Nintendo. Nintendo should just stick with NDS.

And SEGA should really stop makign Sonic and the rest look like shit. I mean COME ON!! A SWORD? WTH Sega?

Also, Square Enix for removing Fantasy from Final. Wth happened to the battle system i loved? 12 was so bad, I wanted to shoot my foot for buying it.

No crap, but it doesn't matter WHO invented something, we're talking about usage and additions.  SEGA didn't invent the technology or the idea either, but fanboys act as they did the same way fanboys act as if Nintendo mastered it.

Nintendo didn't invent the Virtual Boy gimmick either, but they're remembered for it because they did it the biggest.  The implication and marketing and "innovation" of it might have existed before, but no one did it as big or as large.

Legend of Mana didn't invent their set up of locations on the world man either, but a lot of people mention these games for doing it because they were the biggest.

Other companies had multiple games and technologies before SEGA but who invented an entire system built on the gimmick?
That's right.  Nintendo wasn't the first - but they were the biggest.  This technologies been around for a long time, but marketing a handful of games for one accessory compared to breaking down the barrier, that's innovation not creation.

Oo~ FF12 It's not that bad, compared to Dawn of Mana (yea! Square!). At least they don't included Mana's horrible camera action into FF12, and reseting character's level for each chaper.

Those two features combined together, making a good game into trash game.

Yeah, I was quite disappointed with Dawn of Mana. A game with such a big potential, and they ruin it like that. It took the fun out of the game so much, i stopped playing by chapter 3.

I kinda liked it for the aspect difficulty, but those were still god awful. The badges are an insane help though >_>

The level cap in FFT:A was horrible as well. Are you kidding me? 70 levels as compared to 99?
