world of warcraOHGOD

I quit because I was an Alliance druid on a PvE server. Tried to get back to it a few months ago with 3 other friends, rolled a PvP Horde shaman but never got past level 30 something, got too bored.

If you're trying to quit, keep playing. Maybe you'll get bored like I did.

I'm actually just the opposite. I just can't find any interest to play at all. I really want to get back into it, since my character is actually not half-bad. A lv70 Orc Shaman (Resto/+1.6k Heals).

But I don't know, I mean I feel like whenever I log in to pvp and grind all day... and for what? Gear that will never be enough? And even if I went that extra mile to get the truley amazing gear... all that time would be for a virtual game and even at that it will be obsolete by the time of WotLK. AND on top of that my class itself will be obsolete since Death K. is so overpowered (which is going to ruin WoW because absolutly EVERYONE and their parents will be a DK)

That's what runs through my head along with that BGs aren't very interesting (as a healer I guess, but after all the time I put into the gear I have, there is no way I am switching) which is why I can never play for more then 15 minutes tops.

I dunno, maybe that will help you quit. Try thinking about all of that.

Oh and remember, no matter how much you play the game, no matter the amount of time you invest into the game, there will ALWAYS be someone better than you and even at that it will do you absolutely nothing in the real life except drain your money (and maybe social life although it never really affected mine all that much.)

To all these people who are like, "lol, I got 3 70s and the game is boring."

I would imagine a game you've likely played for 1000+ hours is boring. It's called taking a break :D

I just levelled my second 70, after playing since closed beta. I love the first 40 levels or so. It's always a huge achievement and feel-good-feeling to get your first mount (now level 30 :x) and be able to wear the next level of gear (for shamans hunters warriors and paladins) and it really is the defining level for your class. You get access to your first 31 point talent, you unlock lots of new abilities, and for most classes, some sort of quest line. But between level 40-60 its all pretty samey. Of course, after 60, since the entire game was revamped for Outlands, it really does revitalize the spirit of the situation but even that dies down after a bit.

But like most MMORPGs, the game is meant to be played at the end-game. Raiding, competitive PvP, and grinding, are all the core elements of WoW and are exactly what A) keep people addicted and B) turn people away.

If you have ever browsed the WoW Official Forums, its full of people "Zomg I hate this I will never play wow again" yet they are posting on an ACTIVE account that is paying for a subscription and they RARELY ever cancel.

QFT

God, I played it for almost a year straight when it first came out... religiously. Quit, came back and played it some more for a few months, quit. Then came back once more time for a few months to play as my paladin :)

One of these days I may try again.

One very effeicient way to quit is to delete your character(s). I did this, and when i got sucked back into it, i just quit directly after my game-time was over.

Another tip is to list up all the things you think is bad about wow, and realise it is not worth playing and paying for. Whenever you feel an urge to play, check the list first.

Also, in the beginning of my rehabit i played alot of free mmorpg's such as FLYFF etc. They are often not very fun, but they keep the addiction stable while not playing wow =P

I have been without wow for a while now, and feel fantastic about it. when i think back about it, i'm not sure how i could have liked the game in the beginning.

it will keep you less hooked,
Why would you want to be less hooked? :x

And I've played wow but I was never too into it, I was more interested in stuff like Gunz or Silkroad(which are both free, hmmm) but I kind of stopped playing those too. Just waiting for some online D3 is all. :)
Gunz is just plain awesome.... I don't play it very often b/c I don't have the time... But I love the hell out of it.

gunz is pretty awesome
i played all those ijji games
gunbound, soldier front, gunz, etc. those are what you play other than WoW. theyre the best, and theyre free.

Lol... NO.

I fully intend to sell my account if I ever truly quit. Not just delete my characters.

If FFXI could be soloed/duo'd, I too would play it probably just about exclusively. I frikkin love that game.

Just, not the grind.

i agree. i got to 40 whm and 60 bard, and then at that point it was something stupid like 7million exp to the next level (and enemies at the time were capped at 300exp), and my regular party was always on at random times, so i just totally lost all interest :/

The EXP curves were altered a long time ago. So the TNL's aren nearly as assnine. 74-75 is 42,000 exp. i think the max EXP u can cap at is like 350 + bonuses from Rings, but generaly in a party you average 180-215 per kill. But end game parties kill really fast so in just a so-so party you'll average 10k/hour. so about 4 hours from 74-75. that's really not that bad. and if you played bard, bard's are like ... drool in end game <_<.
