If a doctor refuses to treat a patient due to his religious beliefs, then why even bother working in a field that will openly offend you?

It's not a question of "Because of all the other patients", what about this one patient?! Is this patient any less of a patient?

Honestly, if you're going to get offended, then get angry that you're forced to treat someone thats completely against your religion, don't work at all, because you obviously can't handle the fact that the world doesn't conform to you.

Every doctor chooses to enter the field for their own reasons. Besides, doctors are different than surgeons, they're not as inclined to instantly treat a hurt patient, they have time to form relationships with their patients and find out what's wrong.

It's not a nice thing to think about but it's true. What if Hitler rolled up into an American hospital and he needed his tonsils removed. Would you want to help him? Would you expect other people to help him?

Even if she got raped she commited a crime. Maybe sha had that warrant on her because she murded twenty children, who knows? The assholes who raped her should get their punishment, no doubt about it! But she should get her punishment too. It´s as simple as that.

This isn't about the car theft part of it. No one is saying that she shouldn't be in jail. They're complaining that she didn't get adequate medical treatment by the nurse in jail. Being accused of car theft, not convicted, doesn't mean that she should have to carry and give birth to the baby of the rapist, or have to undergo an abortion. That's cruel and unusual punishment.

As much as people would wish it otherwise a doctor has the same rights to refuse to do there job as everyone else. Mechanics have gotten sued for not fixing cars that were belonging to white supremist groups, because they would be used as vans to transport the racist buggers to and from (specifically for this purpose) hate meetings, and was found innocent, because of his own views.

We can refuse to have any costumer we want. The person here is of no exception. I don't agree with it, but it's there right. Wether that right is good or bad, is out of the scope of this discussion in a whole. Personally I'd say there should have been a 2nd hand who could have perscribed the pill. Sadly there either wasn't, or that was never accomplished.

But no one can force someone to do work they are morally against. Just like you can't be forced in pulling the switch at an execution, or pull, for the earlie example, Hitler's tonsils. Sure, we may not agree with it, but that's how it is.
