WiP: [VEX]Knight

Hey chums,

I've been toying around the idea of (yet another) project, I have a basic story idea in mind and I'm in the process of finalising it.

I'm also looking at finding new graphic styles to use and browsing through the Gathering of Templates post I came across the VEX template and decided to give that a go.

So without further ado, here's a Knight in the VEX template:

Please post comments and critiques, also I'd like to know what you guys think about tile sets in relation to using the set, I have a feeling RTP might not work so well, but what about FF6 rips? (as cliché as that sounds, but I have a feeling it might work okay together) or is it worth my *trying* to develop my own tilesets for it?
 
Well number one your sprite is composed of pillow shading. Thats a big no no. In the rmxp tutorial section there is a tutorial on how to shade and how to do it correctly. Just thought that letting you know that can help you grow and make you a stronger spriter.
 
The way you shaded his armor makes it look like rock or stone instead of any kind of metal. I'll try to find a good reference sprite and I'll edit my post.
 
Oh okay, I see what I did wrong, I wasn't using enough colours to highlight which made it look more rocky than metallic. Thanks for the tips! :)
