I'm planning a unique style for my game's sprites. I'll do my own resources for fun and boredom, starting with the character. Please note this is a WIP of a test, and is highly dithered. Color-economical  :tongue:

The dithering is totally wierd. It really isn't working for you.

You need significantly more contrast in your colors. As a result he looks incredibly flat.

There's more, but I think it will be easier (and more helpful) to critique again once you've fixed these problems.

I'm with despain, he looks extremely weird dithered, you need to reassess exactly how you want him to look - Without the Dithering. But, at least you have a foundation.

but still unbalanced that his leg is too small, I think.

If the skin color is right now, i'm going to work at the Legs as DJ said

The skintone is much better, but I'm not sold on the desaturated fourth color. I think you could easily get rid of it.
And the legs aren't too thin - if anything, they need to be thinner - as is, the guy looks like some kind of satyr or something, since his legs bulge out unusually. Just make those into straight lines, IMO.
