I just figured i'd get someone's opinion on my HK attempts. Here is the one i'm working on right now...

Don't use pure greys.

Yeah, Raiju has a point, Try to make it a bluish grey, but a dark tone, it will look alot better than it is.

try too shading and the clothes can go out the template

the mask needs the most work. Dont forget that you can edit the eyes too. I think he'd look better with narrower eyes.

The band at his waist needs to be curved instead of straight across.

I Was going for a ninja when i started, but to tell the truth, it looks more like scorpius from farscape...

I've heard this a lot: "Don't use pure XXX" What do you mean?

The colors you picked are completely saturated. They're pure grey with no other colors. What you want is saturated blue, purple, red, brown, or whatever depending on what tone of black, grey, or white you're going for. By saturated, I mean a color with a lot of grey in it.

Also, you've used too many colors in your palette for the gRTP.

What does my HK have to do with gRTP?

Show me what you mean using one of the frames.

What he means is desaturated. Gray scale is a set of values and you saturate those values with color. You've used a pure gray. A gray with no color to it, and it makes it look, for a lack of better terms, visually dead.

Now i did this VERY quick and sloppy in photoshop so don't use this as your prime example, but I added a very mild blue to it and notice that it looks more vibrant? has life to it? That's what he means.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the skin-tight-body-suite look but i can understand that it is easy to apply to a template when you're new at things.

Oh yes please disregard the blue on the scalp of the lower sprite. like i said i did this -very- quickly

I usually only do the skin-tight when need be... I don't like the template much, but as i plan it go bigger with one of my projects, i need to practice.

Yes, that is what I meant. >.< Sorry, I have a couple wires crossed in my brain. I often use and think the wrong word in a pair of opposites. Left and right being the most notable (which plays merry hell when I make Move Routes).

Fixed, i think, the nin's color problems and added a tileset i have been working on for the past hour.

Awesome. Scorpius has more face exposed though. However if you just want him to be a Ninja, disregard that.

Not exactly a farscape type set, though i could try that later. Pilot would be fun to do.
