I've been working on this for a little while now, and I want to get some comments on it. Remember, as it is a work in progress, the mixing isn't complete, and nothing is definite. Please c&c! Thanks~

It actually sounds pretty good for a battle theme. Don't really have any criticism... It doesn't need any. It's really good.

Most people have a hard time composing battle themes, and i'm glad to see (or more like 'hear') that this one has all the elements of a good battle theme, especially when you have to hear it over and over. It's nice, upbeat and catchy. The intro has an epic feel that I'm liking as i'm listening to it over and over. Can't wait to hear this complete. :thumb:

About 10-13 seconds into the song (when the high strings kick in), there is quite a bit of dissonance going on. I would focus on making sure that the chords/notes you're assigning the strings to don't conflict with the rest of the arrangement. The best way to do this, is to solo the strings and go through each of the tracks to find out which one it's clashing with. Then you can alter it accordingly.

Beyond that, I think you've got a good start here. It definitely feels like battle music, it's fast-paced and exciting, and the arrangement is fairly complex. But again, I'd be very careful when using midi strings... they're a very delicate thing and it's easy to screw up. This piece is almost painful to listen to right now because the strings are so grating on the ears.

nice work as always holk, it kinda makes me think of star ocean or a "tales of" game, i can hear the cheesy voice samples calling their moves out now "star burst giggle moon sword". yeah, i like that one

anyway, as miss macha pointed out the strings sound sharp, but im not sweating it much as you said its wip and the mixing isnt complete. so far so good, i like its its dancey and catchy, and doesnt get boring
