[WIP] 8-bit Platformer

I've just started working on an 8-bit tileset (using kiniko's NES palette) and it's quite fun to do. Tell me what you think of what's there. I'll update with more tommorow.
Working on:
-Stairs
-Ladders
-Walls
-Moving platforms
-Screenshots
--Elevator
--Doors

Everything appears to be small because the characters and enemies will be small. When i'm using the actual tileset in RPG Maker XP, I use a big black border picture (too be HUD) making everything appear smaller.

And the transparencies haven't been added yet.
Also, i'm almost out of ideas for what to add to the tileset. Any suggestions?

Kiniko is also gonna be assisting me with the tileset (Thanks!)
 
I see your using the palette I posted ;) Well, that looks really good, I love 8-Bit things. I just wish I could work on this.

Quick screeny in action. Character is a place holder until i'm finished with the main character.

That screeny makes me quiver with nostalgia... it makes me want to go make an 8-bit platformer right now... even though I know I would never ever have the attention span to finish it, it just makes me want to have a go at it.

EDI: Oh, and the tileset's pretty sweet too, btw.

Oh BTW are you using a plat former script? cause the one here I can't seem to get it working.
Oh and also add some foreground images if ya can like rocks or something.
that will give it depth.
 
Ok, i'm working on some rocks and background walls.

I'm using the patformer script by XRXS(or something like that), which was edited by Brimstone-X. So jumping 'n stuff is very, very buggy.
 
If you need any help with the script tell me, Its buggy as hell, But I've screwed around with events to the point where I can do ALOT with it.

could you give me some examples of what you've done with events?
-I'd like skidding, double jumping, controlable jumping, and pixel movement (probably not possible with events.)
 
When you´re adding Gravestones, Colums and some ruined walls.. it´ll be perfect for a 8bit Castlevania ^^
