[WIP]2k3 RTP XP Remake - AniBattler

Okay I've always wanted to get some battlers out there for everyone to use, but I'm not brilliant with design.
So I'm making my first collection based on the RTP, but that's been done over and over, so I figured I'd bring the old up to date.

This is the first four frames animated of the Heroine from 2k3:
Idle Pose

Thoughts? Would this collection be something you'd use?

I could only find one screenshot of where she was used, seems everyone loved Alex more :P

This animation looks nice, but so far I can't use it, and this project seems too big to actually finish much of. I think the only way I could finish a spriting job like that is if I got a steady pay from it.
Still, your animation is pretty smooth. Doesn't look too neat though.

Not much of a pixelartist so I can't give you advice there, but the animation could be slightly smoother. The shoulders seem to pop up suddenly in one frame, and the coat flutters overmuch, like caught in a breeze. I'm also not sure why one would bob only one foot in that stance, but it's pretty minute.

why didnt I see this x:

Her breasts jiggle a bit to much, it almost looks like its force in a way. The hair is a little bit flat in terms of animation. It needs more movement. Also not all the movement matches, it seems off. Like it looks like the boobs jiggle and then she moves. Same thing with the clothes. I would definitely work on matching you animation up more. Maybe some move movement in the legs as well. Pixel art wise though, I think its rather fine maybe a little bit more contrast in the highlights and darktones but other than that it looks quite dandy.

Thanks for the replies

Jek - It's only four frames out of forty four, so it's not usable to anyone yet. It's not something that I'm saying will be finished next month, it's progressive and helping me to get better.

Regi - I wish I had the time to extend the frames to six rather than the default four, that would give me more frames to make it smoother. The 2k3 sprite has this fanned out coat so I guessed it would bob a bit.
I've not corrected that foot so the one that didn't move at all now also bobs.

Bacon - Got to make my first have a bit of eye candy  I couldn't really figure out the hair from the reference, I didn't want to make it stiff and I needed it to follow the head when that moved.

I've been placing the defend pose in and now working on them both matching to the struck pose, which is a lot harder than it sounds

Well I've finished the first one, just looking for general overall feedback, keep in mind though that I'm trying to balance quality with speed.
Feel free to try with your battle system, just remember that you'll only need to increase the number of rows by one, that's all, you don't have to code what the extra row does because it doesn't do a thing.
Code:
MNK_POSES               = 12
Simples.

Approx 15 ~ 20 hours it took to do this.

Also I called her Alxea. Since 2k3 didn't have her automatically in the Database and everyone calls the Hero Alex, I figured Alexa was the best thing.

Anyone test this on here?
I'm in the mist of making a small enemy, then I'm moving on with creating three at a time before posting any.

Tested it. It looks really nice, and I'm totally going to use it. As much as I love the design though, there is currently a pretty limited amount of animated sideview battlers to choose from, and few of them have the same - more natural - propositions as your sprite. So therefore I had to make some small adjustments to its size, since the majority of the battlers I'm currently using are by dollmage.

Anyhow, I hope to see more sprites in the near future. =P
