Windows Vista Sucks?

so, vista sucks? Maybe you did something wrong while installing?

Im using XP and i plan to use vista... Hmm.. from what i've heard from you, you could kill Bill Gates.. :P

I had several problems with XP too though, i had seen the blue screen too.. The horror... And NTLDR going poof, etc... A lot of horror with XP... Yes, i think MS release OS's really early, no enough tests...

It's probably a good idea to back up important information that's worth thousands of dollars on some medium other than your primary hard drive.

My computer barely runs XP. If I put the Vista disk in, it'll probably combust.

Ha.. from what ive heard i only have one question..

"Does any new computer come WITHOUT vista?"

Or do i have to go out and make my own?
..or does anyone want to convince me otherwise? cause right now where i stand is.. Vista sucks.

Find a smaller computer store that caters to businesses or is likely to have computers collecting dust in inventory. In the first case, they'll have XP pro, in the second, they'll have XP home.

Should have done that myself.

I purchased a copy to give MS the benefit of the doubt. Tested it since early Alpha releases. It came a long way but I'd suggest you compare the Aero interface to something like OSX and Beryl.

Running Vista with it sitting idle took up roughly 550MB sitting idle.

Beryl on my Gentoo install takes up 220MB with KDE running idle.

I don't agree with the bloat ware approach that MS seems to keep taking. (That is the doctrine that assumes that everyone will just get stronger hardware to run bloated software that could be cleaner if it hadn't been developed with so much RAD)

My copy of Vista now sits on a shelf collecting dust.

From my POV, I don't believe Vista will catch on very fast. I've already seen a few computer that are "Vista Compatible" with 512MB ram and they run slow as molasses.

The business I work for won't be willing to sell Vista, they will still be selling XP probably until MS makes people upgrade with a new copy of Office, Media Player, etc. I see they are already trying to do this with DX10 & Managed DX9

Quick edit:
Here is a preview of what Beryl can do.

lol u just need GOOD PCs that's all. a friend of my father purchased Vista for his small enterprise PCs and none could run it hahaha, total waste of money 4 him. he had to uninstall em...

The only REAL bad thing about Vista is, many of the things I'm used to, don't work.

Google sketch up, most 3D applications, pffft. Don't work at all. the flashy graphics also take so much memory. Look what I had to do just to speed my compy up:

What do you notice? I have the Windows 98/2000 graphics on! And my computer JUST started speding up! By, like, 5 mb!

Maybe it's not a problem with most folks, but I bought a Windows Vista laptop with 512 MB's and 60 MB's of hard drive space. Vista does not help these low specs.

I don't think the Vista Transformation Pack counts as having Vista, Khengi...
You can only buy vista ready laptops with 1gig of ram, else it would run like a dead shrew on a ski slope.
(oh yes, now that Macs are known to be better than PC's, there are more Mac compatible games! Beat that sucky vista)

The paper that had the Vista on it that I was buying said "Home Basic ready" or something like that. I had no idea that I'd be living on hell on earth.

When I find Bill Gates, I'm gonna make his life a living Vista.

In my opinion, it once again proves the old philosophy; never upgrade to the next windows until the first service pack comes out. And never buy a new version of windows for a current machine. Been following this philosophy since '98 (it helped me avoid ME, too) and it still works a charm.

But remember, should you get tired of Vista, just eat a Bista!

Bill Gates says their tasty good!
