White Boxes around Characters BUT HOLD ON!

I have reviewed several other forums and sites and found out how to make the background transparent when you import BUT I am wondering do you HAVE to import?  I have downloaded several sprites and battlers from different sites and placed them directly into the character and battle files with no problems at all.  So is there some way to make the ones I am having problems have transparent background without importing?  Any ideas would be a great help.

You only need to "Import" them if they don't already have a transparent background (alpha channel).
If you have an image editor that supports transparency (PSP, GIMP, etc..), you can add the
alpha channel yourself, and set the background as transparent.
This way also gives you much more control over anything you want 'semi-transparent'.
(semi-transparent if you Import is 50% gray, period)

Then, you can just drop the file in your \Graphics\...  folder.

Be Well
