EB still exists around here, though they kind of merged so they're basically the same thing. I like EB more though, since they have a nice little PS1 game rack instead of the really unorganized things at Gamestop. I ALMOST found Parasite Eve at the EB at the mall near me, but the case was only out on accident. Sadness.

And also ccoa, MEAN! FFT still is great. I have over 1000 hours in that game.

Eb games totally sucks... by the way if you want a get title, 6 is SURELY the best... 1 is horrible on graphic and music as 2 and 3, the fourth chapter is not soo bad, but not worth buying it... same for the 5...
Anyways the 6 can easily downloaded on the net... it's 2 megabite heavy...

Final Fantasy Tactics for $19.99? HOLY LIE AHOY! There isn't a SINGLE store in either the Toronto or Vancouver areas that sells it for less than $40(Okay, okay. I admit, I haven't been to toronto in 5 months. Prices could have changed). MAYBE you'd get that price on eBay.

As for the other 3, Final Fantasy Origins and Final Fantasy Antholoy can be gotten used for that price at EB games. The prices I listed were new. Final Fantasy Chronicles can't be gotten new or used for $24.99. Trust me on that one. I searched for almost a year for it. In that time, the lowest price I found was $39.99. That was 4 years ago, I can only imagine prices went up(and I can varify that by going into the 2 local game stores near me as well as checking EB games)

Might I be frank? Tactics isnt THAT great. Its good, but Disgaea and Fire Emblem have more fun and interesting battle systems, the Suikoden series(mostly) has better stories as well as Ogre Battle if the story's big hitch is political intrigue. I mean, the story's good even though half the people who say it has a great story, when asked what it actually IS, really, dont have a damn clue. They mention the very generalized story which is really not that interesting, and they dont have a clue about Delita or half of the transpired events. Just sayin. It's been put on a pedistal in hindsight for some reason, but the game isnt terribly fun to play now(advanced had a more balanced system I'll admit) and best story ever? A far cry methinks.</2 cents>

lol man. I dont live in the same city as you. I live in Winnipeg. And the prices I listed are NEW If i had a Digital Camera I would go there tommrow and take pictures. And YES tactics is 20bucks NEW here.

FF titles you should buy:

FFVI, IV, and V for old ones. XII For the new one :P (if you have a PS2, comes out for you non-JP soon it goes back towards TT)

Also I'd recommened Chrono Trigger..

And I sold my FFTT for $310 USD back in the day. (Someone imported from when I was in Japan) so yeah it really was worth alot of money.

If you see the words "Mystic Quest" in the title, don't touch it. FF Anthology and Chronicles are pretty decent. FF Anthology actually has games V and VI, while Chronicles gives you FF IV (HardType) and Chrono Trigger (BONUS!) I'm still looking for FF Chronicles myself...

If your looking for a FF to really suck up your time, and you don't mind MMORPGs, try FF11. Good fun, but it's a MMORPG, so if your not into that kind of thing...stay away

That's quite a lot, but I know someone on GameFAQs who has logged in over 4200 hours in Final Fantasy Tactics. Not only that, he also did a Single Solo Calculator Challenge.

That's less a challenge and more a test of spare time, since in an RPG given enough time you can become strong enough with a single character to do anything. That guy's...kinda sad.

Nah, he's real cool and many people praise him for that, since they consider it the toughest challenge to do. But I don't really play Tactics. That game's too frustrating for me. Give me Fire Emblem.

Origins is I & II
Anthology is V & VI
Chronicles is IV & Chrono Trigger

I recommend VI. I do not, however, recommend that you get either of the PlayStation compilations I just listed. Unless you're a very patient person, you'll be forced to deal with horrid lag times that destroy the experience of the game. If you still have a working SNES, you should try to get Final Fantasy III (VI) and/or Chrono Trigger. Or you could wait for Final Fantasy V and VI to be released on the GBA later on this year.

Yes, the load time on any of the disc games are horrible.

It'd be more enjoyable to go out, buy a SNES, and Final Fantasy 2 and 3.

If you're a fan of the series though, they are must-plays.

If you are a fan, and don't like them, then you shall burn in hell and Aunt Jemima will crawl out of the cupboards and eat your cat.

I don't recommend this. FF2 on the SNES was a dumbed down version of FFIV and while I still think FFIV was one of the most terribly balanced and horrid RPGs on the SNES, the GBA version is the way to go. Anthology had a direct port of the Japanese FFIV and there's no slowdown on it but the emulation on Chrono Trigger was downright terrible.

Dawn of Souls on the GBA was also ridiculous because they hacked FF1 to pieces until it was "MASH 'A' TO WIN!" FF2 was untouched from the Wonderswan version.

I don't know why Square can't just release a good port of the originals or don't mess with the gameplay in any way. They're just like Nintendo; everytime they release a new edition or add-on, they remove a feature that cripples it in some way.
