My Uncle and his girlfriend went in to check her at 5am; she was happy and comfortable and talked (as much as it's possible for an 86yo cancer patient to talk) to them. As soon as they left the room she pulled the tube out of her nose and died peacefully there and then, no struggle.

It's exactly how she wanted to go.
