I am British, and my school is awesome in the timing respect.
Last year it was 8:50 AM to 3:25 PM.
This year it is 8:50 AM to 2:55 PM.
And no late classes.
Er... I think them British dudes call it High School.

4-5 : Reception : Infants (Primary)
5-6 : Year 1
6-7 : Year 2
7-8 : Year 3 : Juniors (Primary)
8-9 : Year 4
9-10 : Year 5
10-11 : Year 6
11-12 : Year 7 : High School (Secondary)
12-13 : Year 8
13-14 : Year 9
14-15 : Year 10
15-16 : Year 11
16-17 : Year 12 : 6th Form, or College
17-18 : Year 13
19+ : Blah : University or workins I guess

My school starts at 8:30pm and finishes as 3:00pm, or 2:30pm on Wednesdays for sports. Unfortunately, I moved and live ages away from my school, so I normally get home about 5-6pm =p. The latest I ever got home was past 8 with a detention ='(
US : didn't allow hitting students
Korea : If you did bad or wrong thing, or talking with friends in class,
or been doing something is not for class....You get hit.
If you stole money, You have to pay it back and get hitted really hard.
one guy have stoled my money once, and He pay money back to me
and Teacher hit his leg really hard and he had big bruce on leg and He says

and all the teachers carry a wooden stick to hit students. some teacer have
an huge plastic pipe. some teacher had really hard bamboo tree stick.
and My teacher carries stick and stun gun(not for hitting students)...omg
I never did bad thing I never stole money and I never did illegal so i usually didin't
get hitted but most of my classmates are getting hitted

in my 2nd high school, some teachers carried guns. Not stun guns, actual pistols. We had metal detectors, and those cops-in-a-box guys (cops who drive in a small roofed two wheeled vehicle). I loved that school.
I didn't attend, I always cut, but god it really was fun.
Seniors with good scores actually had dropped classes, some kids got out at 1:45. This kid Danny did a huge amount of extra credit, and passed his classes mid year. After that he showed up for 3 classes every day, that was it. I didn't even know such programs existed.

I'm in the UK and school starts at 8:45 but we basically have registration for 15 mins and we are allowed to do whatever we want so technically school starts at 9:00 and ends at 3:15
My school is weird the starting and ending time changes every year, but 2 years ago was friggin awesome XD

In the UK we call it Secondary School. Not high school.
Not sure why anyone said that yet.
We have primary, secondary and then sixth form, where we do two SATS, another SAT and our GCSEs, and then our AS and A Levels respectively.
At least everyone around me (London).

My schedule next semester has Friday completely off, and Monday starts at 1:30PM. Tuesday is like 9:30AM to 8:00PM though. :x Ah well, still worth it to have a 3-days weekend every week.
It's only when you start working 8 hours + 1.5 hours of driving a day that you realize how awesome low-hours/week college life is.
