What's your favorite vocal song in a video game?

Come to think of it, I should have included One-Winged Angel from Advent Children, the rock one, it's awesome but I didn't think of it when I thought vocal song mostly because they're generally ballads.

I can't believe I'm not alone in this - I thought it was pretty obscure - but I have to say If You Still Believe from The Legend of Dragoon is my favorite from this category.

Eyes on Me just doesn't do it for me. "If frown is shown then" is the most awkward lyric I have ever heard.

You think that line's odd, you should see the translation from the Japanese and Chinese versions. They make even less sense.

None of them. Having pre-existing, real-world songs in a game SOMETIMES makes sense (any of the uncountable number of music/dance games... and the car radios in Grand Theft Auto, for example) but usually doesn't.

Songs made specifically for the game they're used in are even worse... they're usually like horrible flashbacks of bad cartoon/anime theme songs. Even worse when they're like the usual anime theme song and make absolutely no sense with the game itself (*cough*KINGDOMHEARTS!*cough*)

Seriously, the last time I heard a cartoon theme song I could actually stand listening to was back in the days of the original Ninja Turtles.

Honestly, I think Tales, FF, and GTA are the only series which use vocals well when it comes to songs. For example, the latest Sonic games usually have a rock/metal theme to them, hell, even death metal (Shadow the Hedgehog...). Most of them seem....bleh. They shouldn't even be there. The only game that did it well in the series was the first Sonic Adventure, but that was barely passible :-/

Hm.. I would have to say that I loved Eyes on me and 1000 words. Eyes on me sounds really sad and 1000 words had a sad scene. I also like Melodies of life, Aria de mezzo Carattere (not really vocal, but it does have a vocal!) and Kiss me goodbye.
