Today I received an email invitation to the upcoming "Molyjam" event that'll be happening worldwide between 30th Mar - 1st April, in a major city near us. I never heard of this before, and further research led me to this: https://twitter.com/#!/petermolydeux
The event Molyjam is basically a 48-hour game development workshop that will try to bring the bizarre and fascinating game ideas mentioned from Peter "Molydeux" tweets (a parody on his real name Molyneux) into reality.
Of course, we are yet to know if this is a joke, seeing how the last date of this event is right on the fool's day. However there is a website already established for this event with local contacts listed for your geography location. In the email that I received, it is also mentioned that you don't need to be a developer, designer or programmer to join the mayhem, as there'll be point-and-click engine (I wonder what that would be??) available for making your games, and you can team up with anyone in the venue.
I'd really want to go myself but I got Construct 2 contest up on my sleeve here, it'll be hard to free time up for another game straight away =( The game ideas posted on Molydeux twitter are all really interesting though and I highly recommend you guys to check out his tweets just for your own inspiration.
