what makes a good Rpg?

i need some help,what are your ideas on what makes a good rpg or list a couple of websites where i can get this information from..:thumb:

a good rpg is one that has tons and tons of ideas put into it. a good rpg has people and things in it as diverse as the world we live in. a good rpg can reflect your own personal philosophy about life, the universe, and everything in a subtle, non-imposing way, without compromising your ideals for the sake of fitting it to a game. the game should be fit to you, you shouldnt fit to it, rather, there should be an interlocking of the two, like a peice of tubberware and its lid.

A captivating story, fun gameplay, believable characters, and good music.

At least, that's what I look for.

A good rpg is original. Not the midevil stuff we see all the time. Sometimes in a normal setting.

The story shouldn't always be about kinds and stuff, it should be what you see as a story. Story is what makes an Rpg, ffVII has the worst graphics I've ever seen and I'll play that over FFXI becaus eof it's story.

An RPG should have a clearly defined theme constantly visited, but not superimposed, throughout the game. Like a thesis for a paper. As long as you have a truly good theme or themes, everything else writing-wise clicks into place.

o_O FFXI has a pretty darn good storyline, especially with CoP.

1. Gameplay and system. I recommend ff7 and ffX.
2. Characters. They must have oryginal story, must be a various, and manga characters is so cute :3 xD
3. Music! A climatic music like FF7. World map theme kick ass.
4. Graphics. Nowadays people rated project at graphics. But some rpg like Final Fantasy V doesn't have a beautifull graphics but story and gameplay is really good.

Some reasons:

• It does not have a lot of bugs. If not, then no bugs at all.
• The story and such shouldn't be cliched to the extreme. Y'know what I mean?
• Relating to the story, it should have a great storyline.
• The characters have to be original and awesome. I mean, no Cloud rip-offs. -_-

I hope these are right. I believe they are.:-/

 

[Buster]

The only quality I look for in a good RPG is this: it's fun to play. I honestly could care less about how original it is or how cool the characters are as long as I can play it without forcing myself to keep on playing it.
