Welcome to HBGames, a leading amateur game development forum and Discord server. All are welcome, and amongst our ranks you will find experts in their field from all aspects of video game design and development.

What do you do at work?

I'm a bartender at a fine-dining locale in a super-rich suburb, so basically I get rich old men drunk, take their money, and flirt with their 22 year old third wives.

In all seriousness it's a very rewarding job, socially speaking. It almost feels wrong to make money for having a good time with people. Plus, the life stories I get to hear are astounding. Jading, but astounding.

Outside of a few odd gigs at a college-age club, I am a freelance writer, mostly in the sports and video game journalism fields. Or, as Torg of Sluggy Freelance would say it, a 'freelance bum'. There's also a novel, a collection of related short stories, a book of poetry, and obviously, a video game in the works.

I'm a lawn care technician for Dr. Green in Mississauga. I spend most of my day in a truck writing up paperwork. Evaluations of people's lawns, suggestions and recommendations. Generally I am doing this in between servicing, as well. Spraying chemicals/aerating/fertilizing and such. It's a pretty good job since I don't have to deal with my supervisors or boss very much (supervisor is my brother so it's not like that is a big deal anyways.)

My god I know that place, haha. I think your company worked on my aunt and uncle's place out there.

I'm bringing this back.

I sell skateboards and skateboard accessories.

almost like Hank Hill sells propane and propane accessories! :]

But I do sell skateboards for a living [[until they fire my ass]]

Its easy and the chicks there act like they've never seen a black guy so I get hit on a lot.

:thumb:

Plus no uniforms.

Hell I just have to put them shits together and not tell kids that they wasted money on something that they'll break in less than a month when they could easily spent 64 bucks on at ebay and gotten 4x that much.

Its easy shit its just the distance is hella far. :/

I'm a Retail Associate at LegoLand California.

I work the register, work the back room, stock shelves, piss off customers, and hang out with the leads and slack off like everyone else at LegoLand.

I also fill in at the Aquarium, Sealife, which we own next door to the park when needed. I normally get at least one customer pissed off at me every shift due to a pricing issue of a product, as customers don't know how to read price tags. This leads to them cursing at me, the leads laughing, and then telling the customer to go file a complaint, which is then ignored if deemed invalid by the LegoLand Human Resources.

It's like every other theme park out there. I only make 8.00 an hour :|

That sounds like so much fun!

I didn't even know LegoLand was a real place!

And for 8 bucks to be lazy I'd deal with stupidity. Hell I deal with that at my house and don't get paid for it. So getting paid to do it seems pretty damn nice in my opinion.

I have to deal with 'little shits' who think badly about me because I'm 'black' and don't seem to know a damn thing about skateboarding. Then you deal with the pre-teens, the regular teens and the nice "OMG" valley girls.

All for $7.00 +2% Comission for everything I sale.
And since a lot of shit gets sold I make pretty much $9.00 but since gas is so expensive I'm pretty much only making $3.00 :/

I do freelance art and graphic design for bands, shirts, games you might have played before, and corporate powerpoint presentations while wishing I had a real job like everybody else -_-

The rest of my time is spent here, craigslist's job section and working on my RPG.
