I got the usual as I'm getting older (I know this because I got more joy watching my family open my gifts than i did opening my own. Am I ready for children?):

1. Boxers, Socks
2. 2 Scarfs (sp?)
3. Deodorant, cologne
4. A new wallet
5. 12 month membership to XBOX Live (Woohoo!)

I got a little bit of money aswell to get myself a new game or whatnot.

i bought myself an ipod on thanksgiving which was technically a gift to myself
and i got a lot of little stuff, along with cash and giftcards. (i feel really spoiled listing it off so i wont :<)
then i paid my phone bill this morning so i guess that's also a gift to myself

I don't know actually. I haven't gotten anything for the past two years so I've just come to not to expect anything on this day. Its just another day to me. Not to kill anyone's mood or anything like that. Thats just my family for ya'. :/

But hrmm I don't know. I've never really given it any thought. A guess a wacom tablet or some more art stuff would've been nice. A new sketchbook or something. but those are just false hopes.

But its okay. I'm glad that people actually have stuff. I can't really complain about not getting anything because y'know there are people who have it way worse than me. They wake up in war, and with disease and things like that. So I have no means or viable grounds to complain.

Lmao. XD if only that were the case. I'm going to bore you guys with my sob story now. Yay me. :D either ways my family isn't one of a lot of money. We're not poor its just my father is a greedy ass who would rather buy things [[and steal our money]] for himself than his kids. Then he just gives false promises of "I'll get you later. I promise" and never does. Then if it comes up later its just, "I don't know what you're talking about." and so we just have to let it go. It was that way for my graduation, my last 3 birthdays and the past 2 christmases for me and my other brothers. I mean my little sister got stuff. Girly stuff and the younger fuckers [[my younger useless brothers]] got stuff. But my step-mom bought that for them because those are her kids. We just get forgotten about in the end I guess. But its alright. life will go on and at least my little sister is running around playing with her games, and barbies and things like that.

Hell he even called my brother and asked her if he planned on getting my sister and little brother anything just so he could take credit for him. I know the man has money. He just keeps it to himself. Makes about 1200 every pay period and we don't see any of it. :/

When things like that happen you learn to do without. You also learn not to get your hopes up.
But whats great is he even upgraded his 56in tv to like a 60 and still didn't bother to give us anything. Go dad.

my family isn't really like that but my dad is really steep when it comes to money.
i mean, we got stuff this year and it was really nice but he saves money like a jew.
this is my first holiday with a job so naturally i'm buying myself everything i would ask my parents for.
i'm not complaining though. i like the independence.
