I left my copy of hearts in atlantis somewhere, so I decided to stop messing around and finish the last 200 or so pages of dark tower 7. for anyone who hasn't read the septilogy, you really should. it beats most recent works (READ THIS SERIES INSTEAD OF TWILIGHT) and is generally just a very entertaining read. it's an interesting literary tool the way King ties most of his other works into the overarching story and backstory of the dark tower series -- insomnia, black house, hearts in atlantis, and a couple others all have very distinct ties to the magnum opus, whereas most of his other works just fit with it all. there are also a couple of neat ways he breaks the fourth wall to assert the series' realism instead of hurting it, but I won't get into that because it might spoil it.
