I wouldn't really say new Coheed suck hard... they're just straying (pretty far) away from what their original sound was, which is either good and bad depending on your tastes (I personally like old Coheed better, but I still like new Coheed too). Their new stuff just takes some getting used to.

i dunno man. i mean i got into every coheed album pretty easily and enjoyed them all quite a lot, but the new one just seems uninspired. every song feels exactly the same and the solos lack any PURPOSE, other than guitar wankery. the only thing missing is claudio doing that gay dragonforce wah shit that he does live.

i'm seeing them live in november with the fall of troy and clutch though, so maybe that'll change my mind about the new album. live settings are usually a bit more INTIMATE or whatever. still i dunno; i'm just really disappointed by this release. HORRIBLE way to close up the saga.

Metallica were thrash masterpieces back in the 90's, man. Listen to Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets, and then tell me to my face that the old Metallica "sucks." It's only when they started putting out whiny emo shit like St. Anger and selling themselves out that they started sucking hard. Cliff Burton is spinning in his grave, what with the material that they've put out lately. Hopefully their ninth studio album will do the name of Metallica justice.

"thrash masterpieces" doesn't equate to much when almost the entirety of thrash - save maybe a handful of bands - sucks. cliff burton (rip) was a really really talented motherfucker but honestly i wish the other faggots had fallen under the bus instead (lars ulrich is a talentless dick). other than like TWO SONGS (wherever i may roam and nothing else matters) i've heard very little metallica that i was able to enjoy all the way through for any other reason than cliff.

I happen to like thrash metal, so naturally I find your comments on it "sucking" offensive. But I think Coheed sucks as well, so naturally some people get offended by that...

i happen to like sunn O))), but if people say they suck i really don't care! someone's taste is someone's taste. if you get offended over someone insulting a particular genre of music that you enjoy you really need to re-examine your priorities and/or expand your taste. it's not elitism; it's opinion. elitism would be THRASH SUCKS EVERYONE WHO LISTENS TO IT IS A FAGGOT, not THRASH SUCKS.
